3.0 out of 5 starsDid not work in my computer, although it was supposed to.

This SSD drive is premium-priced and should work without a problem. Although my 2016 Dell desktop tower met the specs, it did not work in my computer. It should have, but it didn't. I returned this product. This review is less about the product itself than the service and support that comes with it.
There is absolutely NO documentation included, not even a link or QR code on the box to online documentation. That is a fault on Western Digital's side. I am as web-savvy as anyone and a professional researcher, but there simply is no documentation offered. That is frankly ridiculous.
Why? Because there are, in fact, several steps you need to complete in order to install, initialize and format the SSD. Then there are several more steps you need to go through to clone your computer's hard drive onto this one. WD leaves you to figure all this all out for yourself, or wait endlessly in a tech support chat queue. As I did.
As for that support, the techs are friendly and try to be helpful, but the chat queue is quite long and it is easy to disconnect yourself without meaning to. That is another fault of WD's.
I bought this drive because it was highly rated for speed, and had the installation gone more smoothly I might never have had to spend so much time with their support people. But I did, and the experience was not one I'd like to repeat.
