I found my cat when she was about 4 weeks old weighing about a pound next to a busy road. Already had a dog, never thought about getting another pet, especially a female cat. But I bottle fed this baby girl. I fell in love with her. And today she can hold her own with a 70 lb boxer.

But we just moved to a more rural area, and while I’ll never know how she got separate from her mom, I just know she has a feral streak that won’t go away. So I got this to make sure I knew where she was & I could find her fairly quickly. So far it’s worked great. She mainly just sticks to the neighbors backyards, she doesn’t wander into the huge empty field behind our house. And if she started to I could see it on the find my app & track her down.

It’s solid, durable, and accurate. The easy to use app will guide you right to where your pet is. And for $25 it’s well worth the price.

Still looking for a sturdy collar that she can’t tear up within a couple weeks, but I’m not worried about the apple device. It fits snugly into the holder & matches any collar, regardless of color. It’s very slick looking.

Kind of useless

It works - if standing pretty much in front of it. Even when misplaced in the house, had to go from room to room to get a signal. Same for everyone else in my family, so my phone is not to blame. Still put it on the cat (with air tag collar), to have a chance finding her when she gets lost on a walk, and guess what: couldn't find her when I tried once. Recently she returned home without her airtag, so I went into the woods to find it. I spent over an hour trying to find it, but no luck.
Conclusion: Use if item is next to you, but you are not seeing it because you are not wearing your glasses, or maybe to find out that your in-laws took your keys with them (given that they have the tag registered on their phones). Anything else: save your money and energy.

Setting up the Apple AirTag is a breeze, it really takes no effort at all. Your phone guides you through the set-up process and you'll be done in less than a minute. A hassle-free experience right from the start.

Changing the battery is super simple. The battery the Airtag uses is a CR2032 coin cell and the AirTag is actually battery efficient, lasting about a year. The process of changing the battery is a simple 3-step process: twisting off the cover, changing the battery (CR2032), and twisting the cover back on. After that, you could enjoy the peace of mind of never running out of power, until next year of course.

Now, onto real-world use – it works exactly as you would expect. I personally use it on my AirPods, especially because the built-in tracker isn't dependable on the second-gen. I used to always misplace my AirPods but ever since I bought this AirTag last year, I've never misplaced my AirPods. To be honest, I sometimes look forward to not knowing where I put my AirPods so I could use the AirTag. Hearing the sound and using the precision tracking is oddly satisfying.

The sound it blasts when you want to find it is super noticeable and loud. If you have a nearly quiet room, it's impossible to miss. Even if you don't use the sound, the precision tracking is AMAZING. It points you in the direction of the AirTag and tells you how many feet away it is. The software on the FindMy app is super sleek and easy to use.

My only con is the lack of a feature for multi-level buildings. These AirTags can't tell if the airtags are above or below you on another floor so if you lost your item on a multi-level building, you would have to check floor by floor. Then again, with a bit of critical thinking and the use of precision tracking and the sound, it wouldn't add any struggle at all. But it would be a wonderful add-on for any future AirTags.

IMPORTANT: Be aware that the appearance on Amazon may be a bit misleading; the actual AirTag is fully silvery/gray, not the black/dark gray and gray combination as advertised in the first product image. Not a deal-breaker for me, but worth noting. I speak from experience since I bought this thinking that I would get that design. Check my images for how they actually look.

For me, this product isn't overly priced like many other Apple products. The functionality makes up for the price, especially since you'll never feel the frustration of losing the item ever again. I 100% recommend it and I know you'll love it!

EDIT: I loved it so much that I just bought a second one!!

100% user error on my part for not knowing how to find the “Find My” function on my own phone. Sorry!!

I bought this in February for my dog’s collar. It has worked exactly ONCE when I took him to the vet. I got a notification that I had left him somewhere. Since then, it’s been silent and dark and I can’t even reconnect it to my phone. No, the battery doesn’t need to be replaced. It just doesn’t work.

I got this to put on my pet for when he roams outdoors, the tag is small enough where it can be hidden and does great with location accuracy. Only thing that is a con is that if it is not near any WIFI the location will not be updated. However, for the cost and the size it’s still a great product. Great as a great or a stocking stuffer. I have another one for my keys and if i loose them the app “find my friends” will set an alarm and tell you where its at within 50 feet. The product is. Durable, wont break easily, the battery can be removed if needed to, I’ve had it for 4 months and havent needed to change the battery or deal with glitches. You can buy accessories to change the color cause the standard is white.

Great for tracking shared items... like a pet

We got one of these to put on our cat's collar because he is a runner and got out one day. After 4 hours of searching and 6 miles of walking the neighborhood I decided I needed something like this so I could track him if he ever got out again and it works great.

You can set it up so that up to 5 people can track the same AirTag so both my wife and myself can track the cat anywhere we are. There is a feature that tells you how far you are from the tag and in which direction it is as well. One odd thing is that in the dark you need to use your flashlight to detect the tag for some reason. Not sure what that's about. Sometimes, if I'm unsure if the cat ran outside after opening the door to get a package or something I'll press the button on the app to play a sound and I can hear it as long as I'm about 20 feet away. It is not an annoying sound for humans or animals. It's a pretty gentle yet distinct sound that lets you know the tag is within hearing range.

Besides that you also get a view of where the tag is on a map in the Find My app which is useful for when you're away from where you think you left the tag or you're on a hunt for it.

Thankfully I haven't had to go searching for him with this tag on since the last time he escaped so I don't know how well it functions in a real world scenario but with the amount of people who have iPhones walking around the chances of him coming within 30 feet of a Bluetooth enabled iOS device is high and I'm confident I'd be able to track him down quickly.

Of course I had to get something that slides onto his collar so the tag would stay with him at all times so plan accordingly with your budget. This is a relatively cheap item for what it does so I'm very happy with it. It's also small, not much larger than a quarter and won't bother even a small animal.

This has saved me plenty of times, across a wide variety of essentials I use on a daily basis. The amount of time this has saved me from tossing the room apart looking for something that isn't even in the house, is incredible. I have one in my wallet, my luggage when I'm flying, on my earbuds case, even one in my car (we've all tried to remember where we've parked while our mind was on a different planet, haha).

Things I like:

-It lets you know when you've left something behind. (I've been out the door, in the car, and it says "wallet not detected with you).
-The safety features. I'm sure you've heard of these getting stuck to people's cars, dropped into purses, etc. Your phone will notify you if it detects an Airtag traveling with you, that isn't yours.
-The form factor. It's relatively small for what it does!
-Instantly pairs with your iPhone. Instantly. It couldn't be easier, haha.
-It saves me so much time I could have spent looking for something, by giving me a location, and allowing me to make a sound on it. I've saved probably hours of my life.

Things to consider:

-This is NOT a "GPS", it takes nearby devices and automatically uses them to help track these when they're not on your person (i.e. I see where my luggage is in the airport, because the baggage loading person has an iPhone on them). It doesn't tell you who's device it's pinging from (for safety), but this is how it tracks (and only shares YOUR device with YOU). If you have questions about this, I'd take a look at Apple's website.

-The battery life could be a little better. This also depends on how many times you're pinging the device, traveling with it, etc. I'm told you can replace these batteries yourself (which is a huge win).

-Not sure how "durable" these are. I haven't exactly put it through the wringer, but I'd consider something a bit more "rugged" if you find yourself in more treacherous terrains (something I do not frequent). Airtags do operate from -4 degrees (Fahrenheit) to 140 degrees (rather impressive). They're also not exactly "water proof" but do advertise some water resistance.

Find your stuff with ease

I had bought an individual AirTag after a 4pack. This is because I wasn’t going to replace my tile wallet till Iit died. Well after leaving my wallet at home that changed quickly. These little things can alert your phone when you’re not with them you forgot something. Welp exactly what I needed.
I have had a Bluetooth tiles on my stuff for years (keys x2, AirPods because for some reason unless the case is open your phone can’t seem to find it/ play a sound to find it, heart monitor, and wallet.
Well the one tile on my AirPods decide to stop working/ lockup so you can’t play the music to find it, my wallet one it could be in my hands and it didn’t want to play the music ( both would work in the opposite direction still but forget trying to find them). Welp after I left my AirPods at my mom’s house (last known location per find my app was a hardware store aka the last place I was using my headphones). Called the hardware store first thing they were there nope. Call my mom since that was the last place I was at yup they were there. Aka final straw
Well bought these setups is so easy it made me want to cry. Popped all of them in their intended little case holders I bought for them and off I went.
Welp I left one attached to something in my vehicle went into the store and it alerted me that I left it behind. Few days later, for some odd reason I tend to leave my wallet at home. It was the only thing that didn’t have one. It got one the next day.
The app for find my also seemed to work a little differently once these were added as it alerted me to exact location of another apple product I own left (knowingly because I was out with the person) at their home. I like the find my features better also since basically it tells you exact feet away an object is when you are looking for it.
Downside to these you can’t press a button to find your phone like with the tile.

Air tags are a parent must have

So after one of my kiddos friends got put on the wrong buss, I thought about this.
I purchased this to put in my kiddos backpack (who doesn’t ride the bus) just in case I ever need to find them. When they go on school field trips I place it on them (they make other holders that easily attach to clothing) just in case.
I did have to use it once, one kiddo goes to afterschool (in same building as school and didn’t arrive with the other kiddos and they contacted. While on the phone I located it and my child was still in the school and located where which was the nurses office. Afterschool was then able to walk down to the office to get my child and reported back to me- this is such a great resources.
I had spoke to a friend who is an OT (occupational therapist) about this and I was like this would be such a great tool for kiddos who get overly stimulated and wonder, sensory processing, non-verbal, flight risk or other reasons they wonder- she was like omg, I have parents ask about ways to deal with this and express their worries with that, daily. This would be a great option as reassurance and if needed one click on the phone and you Can find them.

Yes, air tags work for SOOOO many things, but this is what I bought mine for and something others use theirs for that many people may not have thought of. So, I based my review off this.

I’m so ADHD I almost forgot that I bought the AirTag. Then one day, while stressed and looking for my keys, I got sooo excited once I remembered I could ping them. At first, I wished the sound was a little bit louder but once I realized my phone could direct me to them with an arrow and by telling me how many feet away they were, I was less concerned about the volume.

I have a key rack and still misplace them on the reg. Much of the time while on the way out. I have a tendency to be half way out the door and remember something else I need. Then, I end up sitting them down all over the place! This AirTag has saved me so much stress.
