1.0 out of 5 starsNot even two weeks in and I’m trying to decide if I want a refund or not

I bought two sets one for home and one for my art gallery. I not only have had my own IT company for 22 years, but also I worked for apple and currently I beta test and review tech. When I bought the first set, I was blown away, within days I ordered a second set.
This morning I had a two second power blink. What resulted was 14 hours of absolute hell. My router’s would not reconnect my smart home (61 devices). The. The router just disappeared from the app lol. Not kidding, like magic. So I was forced to try a reset, it failed, reset again, failed, did the long reset method next, 4 times, connected direct to my pc, and did a different kind of reset, 4 times. Suddenly it popped up and went thru the reinstall steps. The satellites auto connected. However, I couldn’t connect to the router, some items connected, most didn’t. Over the span of 14 straight hours I did everything I could think of to get the routers to work as they did when I first installed them. I searched the internet and discovered, I am not the first, what? A $1500 set of routers is KNOWN for this particular issue, and it’s been happening to people for a year? My $100 mesh system always bounced back from even long power losses. It’s ridiculous to me to pay for the best if the best of the best, yet it can’t survive a two second power blink? Without basically becoming a set of three useless bricks?
I do not trust these routers now, unfortunately I bought one set from netgear, only one set from Amazon. A return to Amazon would be painless, but what if the other set dies? It’s at my art gallery, which is NOT local. Obviously I need a backup power for any I choose to keep. But to be honest I would rather pay more and upgrade to the 970 which hasn’t yet released. At least then I would know I would get help as new products are easier to troubleshoot.
That said, in case anyone else has this happen here is the reset process. Disconnect all cables, take your pc Ethernet and plug into the router. Hold reset for 60 seconds, pull up the app and see if it tells you it found the router. If not, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, then if you still fail, disconnect all cables except the one to the modem. Hold reset for 30 seconds the. Unplug power and plug it back in all while still holding the reset, continue another 30 seconds. Then walk up to the nearest wall, and begin smashing your face into it as hard as you can, for as long as you can. Once you have had enough, it still is less painful than this router system has been for me today. Well actually all night, I started at 5pm, it’s almost 8am and still can’t even get my phone to connect. I’m astounded. This issue is known, and has not been resolved, I’m just sitting here thinking. This can’t really be happening! $3000 and less than two weeks, a power flicker, A POWER FLICKER? A POWER FLICKER! Ugh
I will update this review once I hear from the company or get a resolution, or return these routers.
