Top critical review
1.0 out of 5 starsDon't waste your money - buy the HighSense U8 series instead

1. Amazon dropped the TV off in freezing temperature "near" the front door, propping it up at an angle and damaging the box. They never bothered to ring the doorbell and I wasn't notified on my phone either as requested. Box was dented and damaged but fortunately TV was not
2. This set does not play well with my Roku streambar. Numerous reboots because of mismatches in the frame rate. Finally found a fix for that online - since the pamphlet TCL provides as a "manual" is useless - and buried in the settings, I was able to make a change that prevents it from happening every time I change programs (although it still happens occasionally)
3.Sound is disappointing; it was supposed to be a feature but it's mediocre at best; certainly not as good as the U8 High Sense we have at our cabin
4. Picture is good, but not nearly as good as the U8 High Sense
5. Android interface is confusing and slower than the U8 High Sense
I debated going with the U8 High Sense because I was so happy with the one we have, but all the reviews kept saying the TCL edged it out. It doesn't, they're wrong. I would have returned the set but it was such a pain dealing with Amazon in the first place just to get the TV, I didn't want to work through an even bigger problem of boxing up and returning a 65" TV. But it wouldn't surprise me to have to do that anyway because lately it's been flaking out on switching between the TV audio and the soundbar when I go into broadcast TV mode.
I compare this to the flawless picture, audio, and interface of the HighSense U8 line and realize TCL is an inferior product for the same money. Don't make the same mistake I did .... and make sure you're home if you order expensive electronics from Amazon
