About this item

  • APS-C Format Lens: Lightweight and compact, this lens is a durable aluminium alloy built that weighs only 300g. It provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 18mm for comprehensive wide-angle applications including architectural and landscape photography.
  • Ideal Aperture: A fast f/2.0 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also offers great control over the depth of field. A 10-blade diaphragm contributes a pleasing out-of-focus quality when working with selective focus techniques.
  • Excellent optical design: Its optical system consists of 12 elements in 9 groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements that reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions in order to produce sharper images from the centre to the corner of the image frame.
  • Manual Focus Lens: The all-metal lens barrel features an engraved depth of field and focuses scales, manual focus design permits smooth and refined control with a minimum focusing distance of 20cm. Additionally, a metal lens mount also offers increased durability between the lens and camera.
  • Lens hood included: Durable aluminium alloy builds and included a removable petal-style lens hood that provides protection for the lens but more so, helps to prevent stray light from causing flare. The multi-layer coating has been applied to individual elements and reduces flare and ghosting in order to produce greater contrast and colour accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions

Nice for the price

Nice for the price
I'd recommend it if you dont mind manual focusing and a decent amount of vignette on the corners. This image is straight out of camera with standard profile, the corners are definitely a few stops darker than the center of the frame. I personally do not mind this since I rarely use a wide angle but it's something to consider if you're a landscape photographer that needs a more even exposure throughout the frame.

Image quality is Ok. All metal construction is very good. Dropped while changing lenses and it suffered no damage. There is nothing better for the price!!!

If you want a budget friendly ultra wide this is an excellent choice. I use it on my Fuji X-T3 and X-E3. Well built, all metal manual lens. Slight lens flare when shooting into the sun that is easily remedied by using your hand. The only negative is that my copy had a slight scratch on the focus ring. I thought about exchanging it for another but after shooting with it, I was very happy how it performed. I opted to keep because the performance of this copy outweighed the very minor scratch. This is my second purchase of a Pergear lens and I am very satisfied. Definitely worth the money>

3.0 out of 5 stars useless focus scale
Reviewed in Germany on June 16, 2021
it feels very solid, though some oil leaked in the beginning, which made me fear for the optics, but apparently it was just some grease of the meachanical focus. all fine there.

picture quality is good.

but what seems to me a really impossible thing, is the focus scala. it focuses at infinity when set to 0.5m distance. if I focus further, meaning at 1m (according to the focus scale) then it is already way beyond infinity. so about 40% of the focus scale is useless as it is already beyond infinity. only the first 60% of the focus lever are usable.
