I’m a professional photographer who uses this printer for most of my small to medium size prints. So far, a month or two into using it, the Pro 300 gives superior and very pleasing results when compared to previous Canon and Epson 13” photo printers I’ve owned over the past 15 years or so. Part of this is due, no doubt, to the range of ink colors including two different blacks and gray. Speaking of ink, I’m pretty certain that I will save a considerable amount of money on cartridges over the long haul when I compare cartridge prices with the comparable Epson model. The Pro 300 seems a little slower than the Pro 9000 Mk II that it replaced in my studio, but this is no great concern. It is clearly a big step up in every other regard, including build quality, although that 9000 served me well for several years. In short, I highly recommend the Pro 300.

Nice update to PRO-10

This printer is a worthy successor to the PRO-10. The colors are vibrant, it starts up faster, and it's quieter. The LCD screen with the ink levels at glance is huge improvement and I love the smaller footprint. I was able to unpack it and get everything up and running in about 20 minutes.

Great printer, weak software

The printer is great. Makes good prints with old paper and no need to make a custom ICC for it. Ink seems to last and simple test prints came out right from the start.

However. I downloaded all the drivers and SW before it arrived and put it on my MAC. I have OS14/Sonoma and when the printer arrived the Canon printing SW had bugs in it. I had to kludge the prints one-at-a-time and restart the SW each time. Canon kind of fixed the SW, but the networking SW hung on the MAC network. I had to input the printer IP address to get it to work. The plugins for Photoshop 25 to launch the Canon prints SW still do not work through Photoshop 25.

Great printer, but their support of Apple/MAC is poor from what I have seen.

Great replacement for my old Epson 2200

Likes: replaceable print head design. Maybe this won’t clog as bad as my old printer.

Print output is clear, and colors are accurate when printing with Printer Manages Color using Lightroom

Disappointment: stiff artboard not supported by this printer. The print path slightly bends print stock, so anything stiff won’t travel properly. No 13” roll print option either.

Less ink better photographic prints

I do a lot of picture taking of wild life, people and landscapes and my old Canon pro 10 died after many years of great service. Could do photos ranging from 4x6 inches to 13x19 with no problem s. Having to replace my old printer would be a problem but is wasn't. Amazon had several listings for or the Canon pro 300 which allows me the same printer paper range (up to 13x19 inches) same number of ink cartridges (11) but using less ink due to updated hardware and software. I have noticed that the colors are richer and the black and white prints offer better shades of blacks and grays. I am happy with the print speedc and results so far. Only down side is ink refills. Cannot use old ink cartridges and refill them due to new electronic chip making the printer unable to read ink levels.

Giving this a 1 because Canon's tech support is from the Stone Age and I haven't been able to get around their MyCanon BS.

This printer will make a noise at 80% of the page, and then the page will slip. It will sound like crunching. The bottom of the page is destroyed every time. For 3 months I have been printing and avoiding the lower 20% of the page. I tried to contact Canon, their forums say this is a hardware issue and to call them. Calling them asks for the MyCanon ID. I signed up for it twice. It wants a different ID. The phone call hangs up on me after 45 minutes.

So I did this multiple times, wasting valuable work hours, just trying to navigate a bad phone system, a horrible forum, etc. They will not help you unless you are registered to ten different services, they won't even take your call. I don't have the time to deal with it. The print quality is great for the top 80% of the page but I will never buy another Canon. I should be able to call, provide a SN for my product, and get help, without being registered for multiple Canon services.

They try to push the app on you, it's all bloatware BS. This product does not work correctly and I don't have hours to sit on the phone to prove I own the product only to get hung up on. No thank you Canon. You used to be a good company when you made cameras, but I bet nowadays you need to download multiple apps and sign up for multiple spammy services to take a picture. Horrible way to run a company.

Now I cannot sign up for MyCanon or even get into it.

La mejor calidad de impresión de todas las impresoras que he tenido, imprime tan nítido que las letras pequeñitas de un letrero de fondo que salió en una foto, lo pude leer con una lupa. Los colores fieles a los de mi pantalla, no gasta tan rápido la tinta como pensé, es algo lenta pero por la calidad lo vale. Un solo detalle que no sé si es de la impresora, no he podido lograr que complete una actualización que me indica como pendiente, no sé si es por fallas de conexión de internet o en soporte de la misma impresora. Por lo demás estoy encantada.
