Product Description
Leica puts a new spin on their perennial favorite, the 10x42 Trinova HD binocular with phase corrected prisms that are coated with highly reflective multi-coatings to increase reflectivity, and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics to boost light transmission through the lenses. These optical coatings work together to produce high-contrast images with true color rendition and minimal distortion. This optical performance is coupled with a powerful 10x magnification, wide apparent angle of view and generous eye relief to produce an immersive viewing experience.

They are made in Portugal, one of the few binoculars under $1000 NOT made in China.
They are relatively expensive, although I think they are worthy of the price.
The ergonomics are great for me! I have short, fat fingers and hands. And my eyes are fairly close together. These binoculars work well for that combination. If someone has large hands and fingers - as well as close eyes, they may find the barrel separation a bit tight. But it's perfect for me. They never seem as heavy as their actual weight. The balance is really good for how I use them. I don't even think about the weight, even when comparing to the 8x30 side by side.
Leica makes a big deal about the color clarity of these binoculars. I can't disagree. I haven't done a double blind test, but the impression is better color separation and clarity. Even if it's not, it's certainly not a downgrade.
There is one thing I didn't expect. I seem to get a white glow in the bottom of the view when there are bright white clouds overhead. Maybe the objectives are too close to the end of the barrel or there is insufficient baffling? If it's the former, I would far rather have the better balance. I've only had them about a week, and I'm already getting used to this phenomena, so I may not even notice it in another month. I was just a bit surprised when I first noticed it.
Overall, I think these are a really good deal for the price. I'm glad I purchased them.
I’m not a complicated guy so after reading the reviews of many glasses here, and thanks to the many reviews on here from people that are way more tech saavy and experienced, I chose these lil gems. The difference from what I had to how these glasses make the world seem makes me feel like I just came out of the stone ages. I can now see a louse fly on a hawks a$$ from a mile away. Well maybe not that but hopefully you get what I’m trying to say is that these glasses are impressive. I have looked through the lenses of other more expensive glasses in my time and these I fee are right up there without the crazy price tag. These glasses are by no means cheap but they are not Bentley $$$. They are more like Mercedes $$$. So from a avg user point of view, I’m impressed. I think you will be too. If you can afford to pay $2k-$4k for glasses then you probably won’t even read this. For for folks like me that shoot for the stars but settle on the moon.... you will enjoy these binos.

Binoculars is as expected but it arrived with a cheaper basic brown neoprene bag rather than the advertised adventure strap.
