These binoculars are lightweight, but seem to be very well made. The image is clear and bright, and easy to focus. There is a good angle of view also. I use them primarily to view wildlife from the windows and patio of my home. They have easy to use individual adjustments for each eye to correct for differences in acuity.
They are made in Portugal, one of the few binoculars under $1000 NOT made in China.
They are relatively expensive, although I think they are worthy of the price.

Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2020
I have owned LOTS of binoculars and camera lenses - and really like good glass. I have owned the most expensive as well as the $500 level binoculars (and some cheap junk, too). Since I mostly do my bird watching with a camera now, I sold the high end Zeiss in exchange for the 8x30 CL Swarovski to reduce size AND weight in the field. Both binoculars have great views for what they cost. The Zeiss were too heavy for carrying with a camera and I never got used to how they were balanced (center of balance away from the face). I'm sure they are perfect for some people. I loved the 8x30 CL but my eyes are starting to have problems with the smaller exit pupil size (physics of any 8x30 - even though the CL Companions were among the largest exit pupil). My wife now gladly uses these! So I wanted to go back to an 8x42 binocular that could be a good compromise for me. After reading a lot of reviews, I picked the Trinovid HD. They are a great compromise that for the price, I am glad I did.

The ergonomics are great for me! I have short, fat fingers and hands. And my eyes are fairly close together. These binoculars work well for that combination. If someone has large hands and fingers - as well as close eyes, they may find the barrel separation a bit tight. But it's perfect for me. They never seem as heavy as their actual weight. The balance is really good for how I use them. I don't even think about the weight, even when comparing to the 8x30 side by side.

Leica makes a big deal about the color clarity of these binoculars. I can't disagree. I haven't done a double blind test, but the impression is better color separation and clarity. Even if it's not, it's certainly not a downgrade.

There is one thing I didn't expect. I seem to get a white glow in the bottom of the view when there are bright white clouds overhead. Maybe the objectives are too close to the end of the barrel or there is insufficient baffling? If it's the former, I would far rather have the better balance. I've only had them about a week, and I'm already getting used to this phenomena, so I may not even notice it in another month. I was just a bit surprised when I first noticed it.

Overall, I think these are a really good deal for the price. I'm glad I purchased them.

I always wanted to buy a good set of binoculars, so did my research and decided on these. They just have an elite feel and crystal clear view. My last bino purchase was a $150 set of Bushnells. Really so-so, lots of edge distortion, poor color quality, all that. None of those issues with these. Leica is a German company, but I understand these were manufactured in Portugal. That's still Western Europe, where great products are made. Pricey set, yes, but not farmed out to the Pacific Rim, where so many corners are cut by manufacturers.

I’m not a frequent user of Binos. My last pair of Swift Binos was purchased in 1990 so I get a lot of mileage out of binos. I wanted an upgrade and one without really breaking the bank. So when I dollar cost averaged glasses out over the expected length of time I will use them, my price range came to about $1k. Affordable for me.
I’m not a complicated guy so after reading the reviews of many glasses here, and thanks to the many reviews on here from people that are way more tech saavy and experienced, I chose these lil gems. The difference from what I had to how these glasses make the world seem makes me feel like I just came out of the stone ages. I can now see a louse fly on a hawks a$$ from a mile away. Well maybe not that but hopefully you get what I’m trying to say is that these glasses are impressive. I have looked through the lenses of other more expensive glasses in my time and these I fee are right up there without the crazy price tag. These glasses are by no means cheap but they are not Bentley $$$. They are more like Mercedes $$$. So from a avg user point of view, I’m impressed. I think you will be too. If you can afford to pay $2k-$4k for glasses then you probably won’t even read this. For for folks like me that shoot for the stars but settle on the moon.... you will enjoy these binos.

These are great binoculars for sure, but they did not come with the Leica Adventure Strap as shown in the pictorial essay from Leica below the item advertised on Amazon.ca in the product details section. They came with a brown Leica neoprene case. This was not a huge issue for me, but it might be for others. So, I'd advise calling the supplier (CameraCanada in this case), to verify before you order. Full transparency would be appreciated.
