First review (originally one start): this is a review of the fact that I CAN'T EVEN GET CONNECTED TO this printer! Deeply frustrating. I went through a whole hour-long set-up process, taking it out of the box, downloading and installing software, waiting for it to detect, etc. It didn't do the printer head alignment thing properly, it didn't connect to the computer via the LAN, it wasn't detected via the direct wireless method, and it DIDN'T HAVE THE USB CABLE needed to try connecting that way. It seems to be a junky and janky device in terms of software. I'm using a macbook air with OS 10.14 . Deeply disappointed so far, would not recommend. I don't like having to fight with my devices to get them to work.

I got the USB cable (why didn't you include one of those with the printer, Canon!? ) and was able to get it working relatively quickly after that. The first 3 pages were super blurry, but then I printed a test page and it seemed to have fixed itself. It was also mangling the pages, they were a little crumpled and slightly torn in one place, perhaps were the paper was being grabbed? But that also seemed to sort itself out after a few pages. Perhaps I'll update again if any more problems crop up. I'm now torn: the wireless set-up was a total mess, non-functional, that deserves one star. But once I got a usb cable (and it needs the special kind, the squarish usb 2 that many printers often have, so you can't just grab a normal one.) it was simple to set up, but they didn't include one of those cables in the box, so I had to wait and pay a bit more to have a functional printer. Still, that's not a huge deal, I can understand not including the cable to cut costs a little bit.
So, now that it's functional, it seems to work fine. And it's quite an attractive little device. It's not something you can throw in your briefcase like some of the thermal paper printers, but it is remarkably small. I think I may have to return it anyways, because I'm realizing I need to print a LOT of pages, double-sided, and this can't print double sided at all, and can't hold very many pages at a time. For what I need, it would be like emptying a bathtub with a thimble while looking at what your doing through a mirror. But for just a few single-sided pages while you're on the road it seems fine. Now lets see how the customer service of the seller is with the return.
