No original packaging, but works as intended.
This lens did NOT come in its original box, BUT was wrapped in MANY layers of bubble wrap to help ensure that it arrived safely. The lens also came in this Canon Lens Bag that was very neat and had all of its original lens caps on it so unless you're in desperate need for the original box, the lens itself will arrive just fine (or at least mine did).Taking a look at the lens itself, there are some VERY minor scuffs around some of the edges and even then you have to actively look at the lens and try to find them to be able to see them.I was worried about the usage of it at first because I would try to change something on the lens whether it was the focus or the length of it and found that I wasn't able to make changes like I should've been able to. However, it was because the lens has a "lock" switch on it that was turned on, and I never used a lens that had that before. So if you run into something like this just make sure that the lock on the lens is turned off.Overall I think this is fantastic. It's almost $300 cheaper to get this lens compared to a brand new one so very minor scuffs and lack of the original box is completely fine by me.

Style: Lens OnlyVerified Purchase
I have been using my trusty 24-70f2.8L for over 10 years and it was time for a replacement. Canon L lenses have a reputation for being reliable for good reason, I have shot over 150,000 images with that lens. As a working professional I shouldn't be counting on a lens that old as my main go-to lens, so I got a new one. It is just a bonus that the new version is sharper and faster to focus.
My only complaint would be that the old version had a deep flare guard, which was very handy for photographing Mixed Martial Arts. I could touch the flare guard to the cage and not worry about the front of the lens touching the chain link fence. The new one is much shorter and I don't have the same confidence. Not a big deal, but it's a thing.

Was very dusty upon unboxing so first thing was to clean it with pressured air and get some of the dust off, otherwise all that would end up on your sensor.
Then I found those scratches on the front lens that of you're using it for portrait, it won't matter since at f2.8 - 5.6 they don't show on the image. But if you're stopping down to f16 - 20 to shoot product on studio. Then it shows on the corner of the image as faint blurred lines or smudges. Not good
Not worth the back and forth, these guys are not checking what they are shipping, otherwise someone would have spotted the lens damage. Or at least clean it.
Returning it, and going for a new one instead.
