If you're looking to get this lens you should know that it is on the heavier side and it's not super compact. Personally, I can comprise for the quality and price range but it you want something light weight this may not be for you.
This lens stays on my A7iii and is excellent in a variety of use cases. It can be used for close up portraits as well as wide angle openers. The large aperture is consistent throughout, so no need to worry about losing that super dope bokeh when you zoom in. I couldn't be happier with it.
The only downside of it is its bulk and weight. So if you are looking for the lightest lens this is not for you. It is has 82mm which is on the large side too.
I took this lens to NYC recently and it still produces excellent images and videos.
P.S. The extras are kinda useless except for the Altura sensor cleaning kit! (that is definitely worth it)

I also love that it's full frame, and on the FX9, you can use the entire 6K sensor, but also can cheat and make this up to a 105mm lens by changing the crop on the sensor to S35.
It also feels really sturdy and the manual focus rang is not super small like a lot of still lenses. It feels like a cine lens in a lot of ways.
Enter the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens. I love that this lens is much lighter, the autofocus is incredibly quick, the photos are wonderfully sharp, and the zoom / focus rings are so much easier to move and are way smoother than the Sony GM (the Sigma is also weather-sealed!). The lens hood is a bit awkward but that's just a cosmetic thing that really shouldn't determine whether or not you should save $1,000+ on a lens. For half of the price of the GM, you're saving weight, getting access to a newer lens that isn't 4 years old since its release, and you essentially have the same features that the GM has. The pictures the lens produces are a little warmer, the vignetting is a little more noticeable, and there is some barrel distortion, but all in all, that can be corrected with the settings turned on in the camera and through the lens profile corrections in Lightroom. I was about to purchase the 24-70mm GM before the announcement of this lens and I'm so glad that I waited. Sure, the GM is slight quicker with Autofocus but not by much, but for the money, it doesn't make sense to spend an extra $1,000 on a lens, you could essentially buy another lens in savings + extra gear.
I love this lens and am extremely happy with it. If you would like to see an official user review, look up Jared Polin's or Gerald Undone's review of the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E Mount. Both recommend it and have further details about their thoughts on why you should go for this lens. I can attest to all of the positives that they've mentioned in their reviews through personal experience. Sigma really has it dialed in, can't wait to see when the 70-200mm f/2.8 comes out, I've heard it's rumored to be released this year.
