Very happy with my purchase. After reading some reviews and watching some videos I decided I was going to give this lens a try over the canon lens, and I am glad I did.I have heard where people say it's not very sharp at 300 mm, no it's not as tact sharp as my 24-70 f2.8 but that is not what this lens is, and I would under no circumstance say it was soft.I really love the reach of this lens and it focuses fast enough for my liking. I love the vibration control as well, it really helps at the 300 end especially since this is not what you would call a fast lens per say.I would say if you are on the fence go for it, you will be glad you did. if good light it is as sharp as the canon 70-200 2.8. If you mostly do low light photography this may not be the lens for you but for 95% of the population this is a great choice.

Very good lens at f8, and acceptable wide open. The VC works! Looking through the view finder everything will be shaking about until you start focusing, then still and calm stable image even all the way at 300mm. I've used this lens to get some nice shots of my kid running around the yard, the super moon, and a few birds.

...the autofocus died and found out Tamron won’t touch any gray market lens. Had I bought through an authorized dealer, it would have been warranted for 6 years. Of course I would have paid more as well. Buy this international version at your own risk. It was a nice lens when it worked.

I haven't had a chance to really put this lens through it's paces, but my first impressions are good. the build quality is high, it focuses pretty quickly and is giving me really sharp pictures from 70mm right through to 300mm.
I'm very happy with it so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acquisto di gran valore e qualità
Reviewed in Italy on April 11, 2015
