It prints very quickly and produces high-quality, professional prints that don't look wet. It operates quietly, and the sleep mode is a bonus, as I am hardly aware if it is powered on or not. I am extremely satisfied with this printer, and the only thing that would make it even better is if it were black instead of white to match the other equipment in my office. Overall, I love this printer so far, and I hope it continues to perform well. Please don't let me done lol.

    I had an HP AIP color laser and for 6 yrs. it produced high quality prints but the software was a constant pain in the ass and printing was often impossible due to it resetting one or more details in software. Previously I have had 6 Brother monochrome lasers and never had a bit of trouble. This beauty has been installed for a week and it's great quality, quieter than the HP, prints effortlessly, scans beautifully, copies even many 2 sided pages and manuals very straight and clean. Software is very stable (unlike HP's, which was always in need of fixing somehow). Support is better and live chat useful.

    I have had a 2780 for years...and it was just cranky and hard to get along with. The song and dance you have to go through to convince it you had changed the toner, for example. It went to sleep that was more like a coma. Many connection problems--so, it became time to move up to color. Brother came out with the best bang for the buck...again... so I figured with Prime and free return and stuff, let's live dangerously.

    It's been about a month of fairly heavy use--pretty light color demands so far. I'm amazed. It set up wireless so easy I am suspicious. The instructions were all easy to understand, the print quality is fantastic, and the scanner is even impressive. The scanner SOFTWARE is going to take some getting used to--but it does the job.

    So it's pricy but LESS pricey than just about any other color lasers, and the cost per page is at or below all of the competition...so I'm totally happy with it and have already recommended it. I'll update this review if it starts acting like it's ancestor.

    When our old all-in-one surrendered to old age, we spent weeks trying to find a good replacement.

    Every single printer we looked at had too many unhappy customers. Too many complaints of odd failures, random issues and wasted ink.

    We came across this and noticed the cheaper print cost and the generally higher level of customer satisfaction. I had experience with BROTHER branded printers at work, and we had a few BROTHER label printers, so we decided to splurge and get this more expensive option.

    I work from home as does my wife, and 4 of my kids are doing distance learning from home. We needed print/scan/fax capabilities and I didn't want to be held hostage by ridiculous ink costs.

    We did have some issues getting this product. The thing said it was about to be delivered for several days then just said it was lost. We were quickly refunded our money and went out locally and bought the exact same model for a little more money. I don't fault the shipper...it looks like the carrier screwed it up.

    Since receiving our printer we have been incredibly happy with it.

    - This thing is lightning fast for a residential printer. It receives the print jobs over wifi, wakes up, and spits out quality prints faster than anything we have owned in the past.

    - Previous printers would randomly lose connection with the network or refuse to scan to certain computers. With the exception of one software update, this printer has never forgotten where it was or declined to cooperate with any of the 7 computers, 2 tables or 2 phones that print to it or receive data from it.

    - The cost per page is much lower than with an inkjet. Toner last longer, puts out more pages, is less likely to hold you hostage because the magenta is out or some nonsense.

    - Not that it matters too much, but it is a good looking machine and doesn't take up much more space than a standard residential printer.

    All in all, if you have the extra cash to spend up front, this thing will make it worth your while and may even pay for itself in the long run. We are very glad that we spent the extra money and don't have any complaints about this machine after several months of use, which seems to be very rare these days with modern residential printers.

    fast seamless wifi connection. instant print from android phone via NFC. software and driver installation is quite a drag though. of course depending on your machine. it required 3-4 firmware updates but it went without any trouble. interesting way to add the free extended warranty. you have to register your product first, get only a part of the serial number which is never handy, (luckily you can find it via one of the many utilities that come with the software package)then you find yourself in front of a shopping cart even though it's free. i guess brother could have find easier way to provide that extra warranty. also the IOS app does not give you the hint on password for firmware upgrade. you get that in desktop version of the application.
    in 2 hrs i installed on 3 machines and 2 mobile devices, one android (fastest) one IOS and all seems good and by the way, most important the printing quality with standard settings is absolutely amazing. i am very happy with the purchase.

    I think this is a good time for a review... now that I've owned it for 3 years.

    For many many years I've purchased Brother printers and have been satisfied. They've all lasted years. This is my first colour laser printer. This product is no different... it's a great product for the features it has. The only issue I have had was due to a bad toner cartridge that was leaving vertical lines. A chat into the support line helped isolate the issue and support sent me a replacement toner that fixed the issue. No hassles at all. Part of buying a product (at least expensive ones) is the support you get when there is an issue... and the Brother support was great.

    I bought this printer for my office work almost 8 month back.

    Printer as machine :
    Good built quality ,Very good print quality , very easy to setup, looks premium.

    Support :

    We started facing issue with printer in 7 months of operation, The Waste box alarm started flashing with printer stopped printing.
    We contacted the support team to explain the issue. Brother Support team blindly told us to replace it .The cost of waste box is almost Rupees 5000. We enquired about printing life of Waste box , The support team keep pushing to buy new one.We had printed only 800~850 prints and before any of the printing toner has finished the waste box is full.We tried to argue with support team over this but the support guys were pretendt to be deaf and rutting to buy new one.One of engineer found that the life span of the waste box is around 50000 prints , when we inform support guys about the same , Brother support team to asked us a written proof of the same. how unprofessional and has no intention to confirm the same from their own end.what is use of such support team.
    Finally after few days of ping pong and tough talking , Brother Support team sent a technician to fix the issue, to our surprise it was got fixed in 2 minutes.Why one should not accuse brother support team for wasting there own client's time and causing them inconvenience to last degree. Brother Support team is surely not committed to clients satisfaction and overall raises the intention of company's business practices.

    Availability of toner in the market:

    When the toner is about to get finished it gives warning about it is getting finished.
    But problem is that it is not available to anyone readily. Every Toner supplier is saying it will take time so pls pay money and will inform in couple of days.So nothing is readily available to clients requirement. Client has to wait for printers consumables as per the Brother wish.
    To avoid the frustration we tried to recharge the toner, even the recharged toner doesn't work in the this printer.

    so overall a very good printer without support and very poor toner delivery system with no recharge use technology, which has turned out only to our frustration.

    Lessons learnt for us

    Big NO to Brother product henceforth no matter how good they are on quality.
