I read this after finishing Lewissohn’s first volume. In many ways this bio holds your interest more consistently because it doesn’t get into ridiculous details, although alewissohn’s degree of scholarship must be commended as well.

This is a must-have book ! Really, this is the best book ever published on the beatles solo years history !!!
It's like the sequel to the "Anthology" book. The Beatles themselves, through 30 years of interviews, tell their story from 1970 to 2001. Even if you're a big fan like me you'll find a lot of information you don't already know. It even includes some very rare and beautiful photos...
All Beatlefans must have this great new book !!!

A nicely reported story of the times. Because of using magazine and newspaper articles for interviews, it seems a little sanitized. You can't help but to like the Fab 4. Seems like pretty good people. Consider the industry, and negativity of the times, the Beatles were good role models for kids. I realize that's my opinion that other's may not agree.

This book is very good indeed. It has lots of little known facts even to the die hard fan. I only wish it had more pictures, although the ones that it has are excellent. It is far better than Anthology, buy this instead! Also check the other book by this author, The Beatles after the break up.

This is a fun book to read for a Beatles fan but be prepared for the fact that it was obviously not even looked at by an editor or even written with a spellchecker. There are more errors on any one page of this book than you will find in most other complete books. I was amazed at the amount of errors. Mick Tagger of the Rolling Stones? Are you kidding me?

While it is full of interesting facts it was actually hard to read because of it's poor editing.

Love Me Do was released on my 14th birthday, so I lived every minute of that extraordinary period, including seeing The Beatles topping the bill at the Hammersmith Odeon (unforgettable experience, but hard to hear over the screaming, and there was a strong smell of urine).

This is great, because there is so much undoctored, unedited material from the Fab Four themselves and those around them. Like many people, I have an unlimited capacity for new information about the people who, in many ways, changed the society I lived in, as well as all music from then to now. Highly recommended.
