Motherboard BIOS update for AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors

Motherboard BIOS update for AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors

  1. From GIGABYTE’s website, download the latest compressed BIOS update file that matches your motherboard model from its product page.
  2. Uncompress the downloaded BIOS file, save it to your USB flash drive, and rename it to GIGABYTE.bin. Note: The USB flash drive must use the FAT32/16 file system.
  3. Insert the USB flash drive into the white USB port or BIOS Q Flash port on the back panel of your motherboard (USB port may not be labelled on all models, checking the user manual is recommended)
  4. Connect the power cables to the CPU 8 Pin power connector (connect either one labeled if there are two) and mainboard 24 Pin power connector.
  5. Press the Q-Flash Plus button (location may vary by model) and the system will automatically search and match the BIOS file in the USB flash drive on the white USB port. The QFLED and the Q-Flash Plus button on the rear panel will flash during the BIOS matching and flashing process. Wait for 2-3 minutes and the QFLED will stop flashing when the BIOS flashing is complete.

Dual Bios, Weird Layout, Ram Issues, Lots Of Features, A Little Pricey IMO, Would Recommend
Purchased this with a 3950x. Much needed upgrade. For $350 plus I'm not sure it is worth the price. The io has an excess of usb 2.0 ports that should be more 3.0 ports for the price imo. If you want to use wifi the antenna implementation is weird and unnecessary. It is a stylized antenna with a magnetic base that is wired to the io instead of screwed directly into the io. If you don't like The way it looks you'll probably need to purchase more standard antenna or use the nice 2.5 gb lan port(recommended).I have issues with the layout of this motherboard as well. I bent a pin during installation and was able to bend it back into place and it still functions perfectly. It's not a cheap board so I'm happy I did not have to rma it for a bent fan header. There are plenty of fan headers for a standard atx case. I have a lian li o11 air. It's a variant of the popular o11 dynamic. The positioning of the usb 3.0 headers on the bottom of the motherboard conflict with fan/rad placement in cases with a similar layout. I have to purchase angled adapters to use them(no front io for now). This could have been easily fixed if the fan headers below the 24 pin traded places with one of the usb 3.0 headers. Why the type C header is in a good place and the 3.0 header isn't is confusing. The type C makes sense and the 3.0s do not. It's much easier to route a thinner fan cable than it is to route a bulky usb 3.0 connector with little to no flex. There are plenty of pcie slots and I'm glad they are not wasted on a wifi/sound card. I am also looking forward to taking advantage of the three pcie gen 4 nvme ssd slots. This might just be with my gpu or bigger cards but with an evga xc ultra geforce rtx 2080 super I could not get the latch to lock my gpu into the slot. The card is fully seated in the slot and functions perfectly but I pressed as hard as I was comfortable with and could not get the latch to lock it in place.I am new to overclocking. As in I've never done it before. I think this is a good board to learn on. I've already been saved by the dual bios. If you mess up the bios and cannot boot at all the second bios is always there for a back up. It's easy to understand how to do it in the manual(RTFM). The debug codes are also helpful and prominently displayed instead of hidden or poorly placed like some other boards. I did have some weird issues with my ram. As of bios F11 I cannot get my 32gb of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ram to run at its rated 3200mghz speed. It will run at the rated speed if you activate the xmp profile in the bios. Doing so results in major instabilities in windows and blue screens of death. Not sure if this kit is incompatible or if it can be fixed eventually with a bios update. Unfortunately if this isn't resolved I'll be stuck with a $200 ram kit running at the speeds of a $60-$80 kit(2133mghz). EDIT: ENTER THE FREQUENCY, TIMINGS, AND VOLTAGE MANUALLY IN BIOS. THE VALUE FOR TRP ISN'T POSSIBLE WITH THIS CPU/MOTHERBOARD. SELECT 27 AS IT IS THE NEAREST POSSIBLE VALUE.Ultimately I am happy with my purchase. I would suggest you get this board or a cheaper similar one if you know how to overclock or plan to learn. Just do your research, RTFM, and consider if your case might present unexpected problems when it comes to cable management.

I've always had a thing for Gigabyte but it wasn't always that way.
I was a PC building virgin in the middle of 2014 when I made no money and by brother and I saved up to build our first gaming PC. We went with the best bang for buck graphics card GTX 970 and got the coolest looking of them all; the Gigabyte G1 Gaming 3x.

It started there with all the little features like a metal backplate and fan shroud (they don't make them like that anymore these days its all plastic) 7 color windforce logo and ooh that new graphics card smell.

Fast forward to 2020 and I make my own money and want to build a PC that will let me move on with my life but alwaye have a good system if I ever want to do anything.
AMD AM4 was the obvious choice now but the big question was what kind of mother board? In all reality I wouldn't need anything but the best but I really tho I wanted something I'd never have to think about again so it had to be X570.
All the choices were so expensive and this is coming from a guy whose first mobo purchase in 2014 was the AsRock Z97 Pro4 that costed less than 200AUD.
The choices were endless but I was sure of two things; that I wanted a postcode and I wanted a M.2 ssd heatspreader. Now along came a guy by the name of Buildzoid in a GamersNexus video who apparently knew everything there is to know about motherboards and What He Said as an actually hardcore overclocking person, was that there was nothing bad about it and that in fact it was his favorite X570 board.
I was sold.

Today I have the board in my hands (PC)
It is beautiful coming from budget Mobos all my life and although it is $100 more expensive than the GTX 970 G1 Gaming I bought 6 years ago I am very happy with it and even all the little stickers they gave.
