There's honestly not a whole lot I can add that hasn't been said by others already, but nonetheless - the model itself seems solid, and while there are a few small pieces that could potentially break off easily, it was packaged quite well and did not suffer any damage. It is also quite detailed, with some of the only inconsistencies I can think of being ones carried over directly from the in-game model (the interior and exterior models never quite matched up in-game). Really, the only point where I can find any flaws with it is the paint, as you might've guessed if you've read some of the other reviews - I strongly suspect it was hand-painted, which would mean quality could vary from one to the next, so it is possible I just got lucky and received a "good" one, and that others might not be as good. Either way, while there are some small flaws in the paint, they are minor and -very- small, to the point that you'd probably need to be within a foot of the model to notice any issues. So, as piece bought to look cool sitting on a display shelf above my computer, it's perfect.
One other note, though - the base stand currently shown in the product image on this page is not the one the item shipped with - instead of that transparent plastic looking thing, it is a matte black wood(?) oval-shaped base with a plain silver metal rod to support the model (as can be seen in numerous of the other user provided images). However, I'd personally consider this a good thing - the pictured base looks much "cheaper" to me than the actual thing, and the actual base also matches much better with other similar Dark House models.

Got this model of the Normandy as a birthday present for my husband and he loved it. He is a huge fan and just started collecting video game figurines and models. After I gave it to him I mentioned my concern about the paint job since a lot of people mentioned it in the reviews and we both kinda saw what people meant (the lines are often overdrawn a little) but it isn't bad at all! I'd recommend this to anyone who is trying to surprise a fan or just loves the game. Unless you are a professional collector, I don't see how the paint job would be bothersome. Also, for the model being as small as it is, it is surprisingly heavy.
