Also, much like the g305, mice configuration profiles can be saved to the mouse itself, so you can use it without bloated, useless configuration software like Razer Synapse in the background. Just make your configuration in Synapse, save it to the mouse, then uninstall that junk after you're done, and the mouse will do as you tell it to without needing Synapse anymore.
The only real problem I have with the mouse is Hypershift. And its not with the ability itself, but the side buttons of the mouse. On any mouse, the side buttons are usually the best to use for Hypershift-like functionality, but if you hold down one of the side buttons, your thumb gets in the way of pressing down the left click button, because there's no plastic separating the Left click from the side buttons. Booooo.....It's not the biggest deal, as normally you'd never need to hold the side buttons and use left click at the same time, but for that pretty much ruins the ability to use those buttons for Hypershift. And I REALLY like Hypershift. But unfortunately, I'm just going to have to forgo that particular feature, something I didn't have to do with my G305.
But it really is an upgrade over the G305 in most areas, and even more importantly, its still available, and for a decent price. Definitely worth it, especially for the $40 on sale I got it for. $60 ain't that bad either, frankly.
Note: This is sort of “negative” for those who want all the RGB. This mouse does not have RGB, but honestly it doesn’t matter cause your hand would be covering it when in use anyway.
Complaints: My only complaint is that occasionally it just stops communicating with its USB receiver. Yes the mouse does have a sleep mode. But it has also happened while actively using the mouse and in order to trouble shoot it, I have to sit there rebooting the mouse until the receiver detects it again. HOWEVER, I believe this is more of a one off issue as my boyfriend bought the same mouse at the same time and he has never any issues with it.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a wireless gaming mouse then you should probs get this one unless you want one with RGB. I honestly doubt there’s another mouse that can compete with it.
For gaming I use the 2.4 connection and boy, does it deliver! I have had no issues with input lag and having several options for DPI make mouse options in switching between games a breeze.
For general use and school, I stick with the Bluetooth connection. Again, no input lag with this option but I don’t usually have a bunch of Bluetooth connections jamming up the airspace. The bluetooth definitely prolongs the life of the battery, which is just one double A. After using the mouse for roughly 15 hours between school and gameplay, the mouse displayed 98% battery remaining - they aren’t kidding about the battery life, and I don’t turn the mouse off. 😳 the only quarrel is that it takes it about 5 second and a couple of clicks to get it to connect after you’ve left it sitting for a long period of time (first world problems).
Aesthetically and mechanically, this mouse is pleasing. The shape contours the hand nicely so it feels relaxed and not strained for long stints of use and it doesn’t have a gaudy RGB design like most “gaming” mouses around this price point. You will see the blue light on the DPI button when connecting to Bluetooth, and maybe the green light when connected to the 2.4 usb, but that’s about it - this is a slick looking mouse.
The price tag is definitely higher than your easy to grab $10 mouse, but you get what you pay for. I am glad I bought this mouse.
Top reviews from other countries
I was looking for something comparable to the Logitech MX Master 3S for a reasonable price and I think that this is it.
The thumb rest is elevated enough to reduce fatigue without feeling awkward. The tactility of the scroll has a nice feel to it (less smooth than the 3S) and the entire mouse fits comfortably in my hands (medium-size, I think). I've had no issues in responsiveness using either the 2.4 or BT connections.
My only gripes: the material definitely feels inferior to the Logitech 3S and it's very lightweight in comparison (maybe a plus for other). The left and right-click buttons are a bit slick (my preference is for a more grippy fee) and the placement of the browser forward-button makes it so that I inadvertently end up click the back-button (on occasion).
tl;dr: Recomiendo este mouse inalámbrico con dos modos (preciso y ahorro de enrgía) y con excelente ergonomía. Solo consideren que usa 1 pila AA y no es recargable.
Energy drains off the battery in couple of hours. Forget months. Even Duracell batteries wouldn't last after using it for couple of months. Not sure if this is specific to this piece or in general.
Editing the review based on Dec 2023
The mouse stopped working and there no way to revive it. After spending so much of money and energy, the product turned out to be extremely dissatisfactory.
Not sure if Amazon is sending substandard products or Razer is bad. I see 19000 odd reviews with majority advising its good, but the experience is pathetic.
Next mouse I'll probably buy at store who are at least ready to answer and certify the authenticity.
Happy shopping!
++Responsive side buttons
++Great precision when using mouse
++Incredible mouse battery
++Rubber pad grips
+Bluetooth and 2.4 USB connectivity
+Razer software (good software for mouses)
-Heavy mouse (does not matter to me)
-Sharp edges (only near the bottom)
--Mediocre magnet for the shell (does not during gaming or work)
even though this mouse is relatively heavy this is still a mouse I'd recomend for work and gaming, though if you are looking for a cheaper alternative with a lighter mouse go and check for the razer deathadder essential mouses, those are ones I recomend if you are already into razer. Else go for the Redragon M656, its a decent wireless mouse.
5/5
Some things I like:
*Fits perfectly in my hand
*Battery lasts a long time
*Battery very easy to access
*Nice and responsive buttons and wheel
*Good looking design
*Never had any problems with connection to laptop
*Moves very smoothly on table and even next to me on the couch
Would definitely recommend it.
