The PC hardware itself probably only deserves 4/5 stars, but my support experience from Skytech (through Amazon) was simply excellent, so I’m happy to bump up my rating to 5 stars.
Let me also preface my comments by saying that I don’t usually purchase pre-built computers, and I consider myself a DIY PC snob. I’ve only purchased one other pre-built in my life, but I've built more than a dozen. I’m always going to have one quibble or another when it comes to a pre-built PC from any company, but 150+ consecutive days of striking out on a RTX 3080 is enough to drive anyone crazy. So I decided to take a chance on this, and after a week of ownership (and emails with Skytech customer service), I can say that I’m pleased with my purchase.
I was going to make a dedicated pros/cons list, but I’ll simply list my comments without necessarily strictly categorizing them into “pros” or “cons.” Some of the points are more nuanced with a mix of praise and criticism.
* Excellent packaging with protective foam inside and out.
* Beautiful white chassis (In Win 101) + 3x ARGB fans with remote fan control. If I were building this PC from scratch, this would not be my case of choice. Unlike cases with a mesh front, the In Win’s solid front panel restricts airflow. However, I think it’s undeniable that this particular case/fan combo is pretty great in the looks department.
* Fast Ryzen 5 5600X processor. They could have easily gone with a cheaper 3600 or 3600X from the previous generation, so kudos to Skytech for sticking with the latest (Ryzen 5000/Zen 3).
* Good 1TB NVMe m.2 SSD (WD Blue SN550). This is not necessarily the fastest nor best SSD available today, but it is plenty adequate for a gaming system. Users with specific endurance or speed requirements (for extremely large file transfers, etc) should probably swap out the SSD.
* Zotac RTX 3080. My particular GPU model happens to be a Zotac Trinity OC, and I see that others have reported receiving PNY models in their systems. Again, similar to the SSD, this is not the best RTX 3080 on the market, but it is certainly not the worst either.
* Cheap motherboard (ASRock B550M/AC). This is one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) B550 motherboards on the market. It’s too bad that they used a mATX motherboard in a case that’s compatible with a regular ATX-sized motherboard. But even the worst AM4 motherboard these days is adequate for most users, and I do understand that they have to cut costs somewhere.
* 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600 RAM. Let’s start with the positives: Not all pre-built companies care about setting up their systems with proper RAM configurations. E.g. some of the larger OEMs will only install 1x8GB module in single-channel mode. Thankfully, this PC came with the memory installed in the correct motherboard slots for dual-channel operation (Slots 2+4). That being said, the RAM would have been a huge demerit in my book if not for my excellent experience with Skytech CS. Even though the memory is rated for DDR4-3600 speeds, the RAM arrived manually under-clocked by 200MHz in the BIOS to DDR4-3400. It seems this was done because the system would not POST at DDR4-3600 with XMP enabled. So even though the RAM was obviously faulty (or incompatible with the motherboard), the technician had decided to install it with a lower speed anyway. Thankfully, Skytech sent a replacement kit right away and it hasn’t had any issues.
* Gigabyte 750W Gold power supply. Again, not my power supply of choice due to some glaring manufacturing flaws, but it is adequate for this system. Actually, I had been expecting an ugly PSU with ketchup and mustard cables, so I’m relieved this PSU has flat, black cables. Skytech actually neglected to include several non-modular cables with it. After I raised the issue with Skytech CS, they sent replacement along with the replacement RAM kit. Great, responsive customer service!
* Good build quality overall and impeccable cable management. My only gripe is that some of the cables (USB/RGB) were hot-glued to the motherboard to ensure that they weren’t damaged or dislodged during shipping. GamersNexus would have a field day with this. There has to be another way.
To wrap things up, this is a perfectly good PC. If there is anything noteworthy about it, it would be the standout customer service. I traded emails with Skytech CS for a week, and I don’t think there was a single time when they didn’t respond within a day. Bravo, Skytech!
EDIT: After talking to Skytech it appears to be the GPU “artifacting”. I’m replacing the graphics card, hopefully this will fix the problem. I would also add that Dolica's "customer service" was non-existent and ignored as they claimed they didn't sell the PC to me while Amazon says they did. Just all around terrible service. STAY AWAY FROM DOLICA if you can.
This was my first gaming PC I bought. I'm so frustrated and beyond dissapointed.

I noticed this Skytech gaming PC on sale for Black Friday. It was $1600 marked down from $1700, with an RTX 3080. As if this writing, an RTX 3080 still averages $800. That leaves a delta of $800 for the remaining system components. An AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is roughly $250 on Newegg (Amazon doesn't have it in stock.) Subtracting the CPU leaves you $550 for the case, motherboard, fans, ram, and SSD (the m371 1 TB m.2 in this system is roughly $100), and of course the assembly. Everything considered, I think this is a great value, especially when you consider that an RTX 4090 alone is also $1600, the price I paid for the whole system. Even at $1700, I think it's a good value.
Because I build my own systems, I hadn't researched prebuilts and had not heard of Skytech. I did some research and learned they are a legit company based in the U.S. My hero, Long-Haired Steve at Gamers Nexus, reviewed one of their prebuilts last year and gave them the nod approval for build quality. If you follow Gamers Nexus at all, you know they commonly savage prebuilts.
While I can cobble together a system, it has never turned out as nice as what I received here. The cable management is lovely, as are the included extras, like guides and extra case screws. I ended up needing those screws because of a Skytech error. Whomever assembled the system did not install the retention screws for the RTX 3080. This is a heavy card, and to be honest, I was terrified at the prospect of the system being shipped and thrown around by UPS with an unsecured GPU. Thankfully, Skytech uses expandable foam to secure the interior, which was necessary because my box arrived partially crushed.
I slotted and secured the GPU (it was partially unseated) and everything booted up fine. My 3DMark benchmarks are excellent, and I also used 3D Mark stress tests to test temps using HWMonitor. The system runs quite cool. I have also been gaming on it of course and the performance and temps have likewise been great.
I game at 1440P and the RTX 3080 is so far excellent. Would my FPS be higher with an RTX 4090? Of course, but I think a 4090 is overkill at 1440P and there is zero chance of me spending $1600 on a 4090. Nvidia makes great GPUs but we are now paying the price for their effective monopoly. I would have picked a more feature rich motherboard, and one with more M.2 slots, but I made a reasonable compromise to upgrade. The included MB is fine, but it's an older, OEM only Gigabyte board that lacks a manual. Bios updates are also not readily available for that reason. The newest BIOS was only a few months old and Skytech had already flashed it to the MB which was great attention to detail.
Skytech also has great customer service. Shout out to Daniel, who understood my terror at the GPU being unsecured in the case. I decided to call customer support even though the system was able to POST and appeared to be running fine. I left a message, mostly expecting no one to even call back since my message indicated the system was working.
Nevertheless, Daniel called me back, and gently held my hand as he reassured me that he understood why I called to report it. Daniel was clearly based in the U.S. (which I do not take for granted anymore) and did not hurry me off the phone. He documented the issue in case any problems manifest in the near future related to the GPU. I agree with his assessment that if any MB pins were bent I would be having problems already.
Based on the current market, I figure I paid a modest extra price for the system to be pre-assembled. That modest price is worth it to me to avoid the terror of maybe bending a CPU pin when I build my own. Honestly, building a PC is not that hard, but I do appreciate once again having a CS number to call, having a PC warranty, and the professional build quality which certainly exceeds my abilities (GPU retention screws notwithstanding.)
When it's next time to upgrade, I will certainly check out Skytech again.
