    real answers:
*stays cool for gaming sessions (4-6h)
*fan noise is low hum only noticeable when core is hot which increases to louder noise, won’t be heard through headphones.
*the ray tracing graphics are 120frames min, no need to pay for the upgrade per spec.
*some bloatware from MSI and windows version, but can easily be removed. (Norton,RED, Apps)
*battery life (4-6h) max f/r, brightness, WiFi
*lcd screen full brightness however color loss near edges, not dramatic.. for 17” screen..
    *good price/quality

I purchased this laptop after a lot of research. For a gamer, it is probably the most sleek and powerful unit available today. That being said, be warned about 2 issues:

    1. It will obviously run very hot under load (I recommend undervolting with ThrottleStop for really intense gaming)
    2. I have had issues with the wifi dropping randomly. Per information I found on forums you can resolve this by throttling the maximum download speeds to the maximum speeds you have available to you. This seemed to help a lot, but I feel like this bug should be fixed; I shouldn't have to throttle wifi to get consistency.

Other than that, I really couldn't be happier with the product. Solid design/build, amazing display with very low bleed, the new RTX graphics cards are amazing. I did of course purchase another SSD for media, which was extremely easy to install.

The graphics are incredible haven’t had any issues with lagging movies on it look incredible and I honestly thought the screen was to big but now i think it’s perfect! Really looks high end with the light up key bored too got a few compliments on it I definitely recommend!

It's a very powerful laptop and it does everything I need it to from editing to gaming and obviously simple stuff like documents and Excel spreadsheets. There is a little backlight bleed in the screen but I don't mind it at all. Battery life when doing intensive stuff will drop but for such a powerful machine, it does well with battery life. I can get around 4 hours of intensive work and around 6 maybe more for regular day use. Software is good comes with customizable RGB lighting with steel engine and had the MSI dragon center where you can fiddle with all the specs to make it your own. Build is solid but could be better especially for the price point. Would have been nice if it had fingerprint already built in or something. But that is fixed with a simple fingerprint reader. I'm pretty satisfied with it now that I've made the purchase. I've had no problems with it at all which is good since I've only had it for two months but it's holding up well. It attracts fingerprints on it and storage is low but you can upgrade the storage with two more SSD just check that it is compatible. I might look to Razer just to see how it compares especially at this price point. ($2199 @purchase) would still recommend because it has power, little problems, solid build, good keyboard, overall really intuitive machine.

The likable things about this laptop are obvious: Its relatively (now) inexpensive, features quite powerful hardware, has a fantastic screen and is very portable.

On the other hand, build quality is sub-par, and thermals are abominable.

Actually, the unit I received was unusable due to a frame dropping effect during gaming sessions. Any game more demanding than League of Legends would cause the CPU/GPU temperatures to spike to 99 and 85 degrees C respectively. While this typically isn't an issue and is (technically) within safe operating temperatures for this particular hardware, the soaring temperatures would cause a substantial loss in framerate as the components throttled to stay within operating temperatures. This resulted in an average of 76fps in Witcher 3 (Ultra Settings) to dip to 30 - briefly - before spiking back up to ~ 76. This happened roughly every 30 seconds, and made the game entirely unplayable. The same was true (perhaps even more true) for games like Apex Legends and Black Ops 4.

I ended up returning it :(

Came without the hard drive working, but that's what happens when you buy used from 3rd parties. As for the computer itself, it is a great device. The max q 2080 is maybe the equivalent to the desktop 2060 but for a laptop that is 5 pounds and thin as it is, definitely worth the price. Also not as flimsy as I thought it would be. Would recommend.
