DDR3 is dated, but 16GB of DDR3 will run Windows 11 great.

DDR3 is dated, but 16GB of DDR3 will run Windows 11 great.
I revived an old HP Slimline S5-1214 mini-tower from 2012. A SATA-III SSD to boot Windows 11, and a NVMe drive on an active bifurcation card, as well as a USB 3.1 Type A+C card and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 and 10GBaseT networking makes it more than capable. The key to this resurrection was a cheap SSD and 16 GB DDR3.This DDR3 fit fine in the outer slot of my micro-ATX motherboard, but the large CPU cooler mandated I "trimmed" the extended heat fins of this ram. The older 8GB FURY DDR3 had heatsinks, but didn't rise up above like these ones do. Fortunately some wire snips and careful clipping allowed me to "clearance" the center area of one DDR stick so it would fit well. While my old motherboard doesn't have the ability to bump the speed of the ram, it does work fine at the slower DDR3 speed just fine.Ram is cheap. Max it out while they still make it.

So at first I kinda thought this would be a scam. But no. Out of the box. This ram works with XMP turned on. My specs are Sabertooth Z87 i7 4790k. I bought their 32gb of 2400mhz memory. No problem. Plug and play for me. It's an upgrade over my old 1866 ram

mit 1200mhz und timings von cl10 -11-11-31-1t auf einem asrock z77 extreme4 mit i7 3770k 4.5ghz !
ich hatte früher immer auf corsair gesetzt was arbeitsspeicher angeht. bin echt begeistert was die qualität, geschwindikeit und stabilität von gskill angeht.
