Between a few bad reviews, and a noticeable price tag I held off for a long while, and used a cheaper headset when gaming in a party. I finally got tired of that headset, and decided to bit the bullet and order this mic. I am so glad that I did! The setup was a little tedious clipping the cables together, and then putting the included mesh around the two cables to make a nice cohesive cable. Tedious but well worth it, I do not foresee the two cables ever tangling with the setup they provided. Mounting the mic in the correct position was super easy with the 3m mounting pad, and it doesn't have to be perfect either, because it is fairly adjustable with a firm but flexible neck on the mic. Finally the most important part, sound quality. I am extremely impressed by the sound quality of this mic. I was a bit worried about the microphone picking up ambient noise, especially because my headphones are an open back design where a slight amount of noise can be heard from the outside of the headphones. Fortunately the mic picked up zero noise even when I was blasting music while recording. There are two settings right by the receiver of the mic, and it will pickup some loud ambient noise when switched to a mode with greater pickup range, but the tighter range on the other didn't pickup any noise even when I was pounding on my desk. Finally when listening to recordings of my own voice, I was extremely impressed. It sounded very clear with no noise or tinny aspects at all. It was just a crystal clear perfect recording of my voice.
In closing, this microphone is not cheap by any means, but neither is the quality. It has worked beautifully for me, and I expect it to continue to be a great product for a long while. If price is you are looking for a great product to turn your favorite pair of headphones into a top notch headset, then this is the perfect product for you.
P.S. I have yet to try it with my Xbox because I forgot to order a y adapter, but I would happily update my review if anyone was interested in my findings there.

* Build quality. Obviously there's not much to it, which makes it feel very light/cheap, but the most concerning area is the point at which the larger end is screwed to the flexible arm. This is a massive weak point and feels like it will break at any moment.
* Price. The price is on the high side when taking into account the above, and what you actually get.
On this version, you are forced to pay for the useless unidirectional mode (which just sounds bad), and not only that, but the Omnidirectional mode sounds WORSE than the mod Mic 4 Omnidiectional. Like Jesus Christ. You're now paying ~£55 for a mic that sounds worse than a previous, cheaper version, but also sounds worse than headset I bought in 2014 that cost me £25.
I love the idea, but the Mod Mic 5 is just bad... I wouldn't even mind that much if it just sounded the same as the Mod Mic 4 Omni, but it's worse... and costs double the price...
Wish I could just buy the Mod Mic 4 Omni again but the only version available now is Unidirectional (and Mod Mic 5), which just doesn't sound as good.
Way to kill a great product.
