This card is Dual BIOS and has the switch on beside the 8-pin power connector. XFX calls one BIOS as "Gaming BIOS" and the other as "Mining BIOS" according to the website. My findings are firstly there is no automatic GPU boost. Secondly, the 'Gaming Bios' (default) runs 1150MHz core and 2100 VRAM (8.4GHz). When you switch to what XFX calls the 'Mining Bios' it is 1405MHz core with VRAM 2000MHz (8GHz) the latter being a respectable and repeatable 10% uplift in graphics performance which I tested in Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark (1080p, Ultra, 8xAA, Tessellation Extreme) from 50 fps to 55 fps. Radeon Driver Version Adrenaline 18.5.1, Win 10 x64, FX-8350 stock :D
My only complaint so far is IMO for this price they should have at least back-lit their logo when the card is powered on - no reason why this would have been impossible. Not many cards give you a manually selectable Dual Bios feature and this is the only reason i bought it over the competition - which have RGB... :D
Performance: Well its a RX-580... and that is the tier of performance to expect. XFX however claims this XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition can do at least 1425MHz on the core for an overclock (I haven't tested this) but the card DOES NOT come running 1425MHz out of the box but 1150MHz so the marketing may be misleading to some ppl I suppose - I doubt that was their intention but it can potentially mislead. 1405MHz - what they market as "True Clock" on their website is the actual GPUcore speed u get once you have the overclocked bios switched on - I mean the 'Mining BIOS' in XFX terminology lol. I hope that explanation helps but I guess the message they want to get across from posting the cards as 1425MHz+OC is - this speed is guaranteed attainable according to them and that these possibly are among the best Polaris Dies in these "GTS Black Edition" cards.. Over Clockers will know that info means to them... So.. Yes the card is actually is clocked at and sustains 1405MHz on the core w/ VRAM 2000MHz(8GHz) - Just switch on the 'Mining BIOS'...
The fans are quiet yet powerful to keep it cool and they shut off under 50 degrees Celsius as long as you don't change fan profiles in software eg. MSI afterburner or Radeon settings, etc - you can however change the target temperature in radeon settings and the card still runs the fans to meet your desired temp and shut off once it goes under 50 Celsius.
The card performs as a RX-580 should and runs with no complaints... I also have been running dual 1080p monitors some weeks now for work purposes from it.
I do like the card - I just tried to provide a lot of info i believe some ppl will overlook or be misled by or mention things that are not stated in the description of the item nor website. These are all facts - wanting RGB and lighting is my personal preference. I will let y'all know if the card does something weird over time :D
The RX 580 8GB is the best bang for the buck for 60-144fps gaming at 1080p. This particular card comes with a factory OC to 1425Mhz on the GPU core. The base reference RX 580 cards have a 1256Mhz standard clock and depending on the model, can boost to the 1400Mhz range, so this is an impressive OC on the surface. The problem I found is that the card can't hold respectable temperatures at this high of a clock. My example would routinely hit 84-85C. Using a custom fan profile via MSI Afterburner only helped slightly but fan noise became a problem as I don't always game while wearing a headset. I decided to clock my example down to 1300Mhz (later bumped to 1350Mhz). Real world performance took no noticeable hit and benchmark performance only fell by 3-5%... but the card temps dropped by 12-15% and now peak in the low-to-mid 70s. The fans spin much slower now as well. Your mileage may vary, but I didn't think the wear and tear and heat was worth no noticeable performance gains. My example was stable with memory OC'd to 2250Mhz, which gives a slight boost to benchmark numbers.
Overall, this is a quality card for the 1.5 years that I've owned it as of this writing. Still tears through every game I've thrown at it... Most recently being BFV, which on ultra settings I'm typically in the 75-95fps range depending on the map and the amount of craziness going on around me. If you have no plans to move to 2k/4k displays anytime soon, then this is a great card for the price. It chews through 1080p like a champ.
It's a little more than 1 month into owning the card and it is still awesome and working great. Very satisfied with this purchase!
Pro:
* Easily clocks to 1425 Mhz (GPU) and 2050 Mhz (RAM) using Afterburner program. Did not require any boost in power or voltage to hit overclocks. Card is extremely quite during operation under these conditions even while bench marking using Unigine Heaven test.
* Looks fantastic with the faux carbon fiber of the shroud. I do wish the logo on the side lit up, but sadly it does not.
* Runs all my games well at 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Cons:
* Size is quite immense, but it is OK in the Thermaltake F31 case for me. If you have a small form factor (SFF) case, this might not work in your case.
* Does not have any LED lighting, so no frills like that to add to my PC's motif. I knew this going into the purchase. I just did not want something to clash with my blue scheme and this card is fine.
Thoughts:
* I would highly recommend this card for anyone looking for an upgrade from the R9 270X (my previous card) or older. It will be a major upgrade and improve game play for you.
* I received the game bundle and have it installed. It took a few days after purchase for the code to arrive. Once it did the code had already been used. I reported the problem to AMD Rewards and they supplied a new one that worked. Satisfied customer!
* I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would buy this again in hindsight.
Update: I have to update this... I'm downgrading to a 1 star because watching a streaming video service causes it to crash. I have never had to hard restart a computer as often as I have on this one. It's ridiculous.

I purchased believing it was part of a promotion called Raise the Game. This would have given me 3 games. However gfDirect have been unable to provide me with the code needed to redeem this, saying they have no information on it. AMD advised that gfDirect are able to resolve. What I find annoying is on the amazon dot com page it lists the promotion.
