For the PC enthusiast/gamer, that means the operating system is much more responsive - and let's face it, if you're buying this drive on amazon, you probably fit into that category. For that demographic, it's worth it for that performance increase alone as a standalone OS drive. It makes an impressive difference in how Windows runs.
For games installed to the drive, this won't make a difference every time as it depends on how well the game is optimized. Well optimized games will still load the same (or possibly slower than the latest NVMe drives out there), poorly optimized games will typically load much faster.
The endurance rating means you can abuse it far harder and longer than consumer SSDs, so most home users couldn't possibly wear it out.
This item, model 959527, is the retail kit which comes with the drive itself and the M.2 to U.2 adapter cable. This adapter requires a SATA power connection to your PSU. The drive is 2.5" wide but twice as thick as your standard SSD so you need to ensure you have a place to mount it with decent airflow.
