It measures the heart rate pretty accurately but, like any other HRM, calories burned is not too accurate (inflated in my opinion).
It is comfortable and you don't notice it while exercising.
HOWEVER, my first Ticker X just stopped working 2 months or so.
I used the HRM about 3 times per week for 1.5 hours each time.
Wahoo customer service was very good and they sent me a new one immediately.
Well that new one stopped working after 5 months of use (I had to stop exercising for 5 months). So, it is outside of the warranty now.
I've had it almost a year now. The device works great. The only issue is the strap didn't make it a year. It started delaminating from the belt at the first of May. I cannot use the device until I get another belt. Other than that, the product and app work great for me.
I use it on my bike, indoor and outdoor, and when running on a treadmill.
The Wahoo app also deserves a shoutout, they have done an amazing job getting all the data and having everything very simplified.
Now, while I've had pretty rare instances of a problematic Bluetooth connection, I've had an increasing number of incorrect HR readings. I've tried all of the solutions .. all of them .. fourteen times. Finally started working out with my old Polar RS300x in tandem and confirmed that the calories burned, heart rate averages and actual heart rate readings were completely different. The typical problems include:
- HRM will show double actual HR - while resting with a touch pulse verified 50BPM, Wahoo unit will show 124
- HRM will seem to "lock" onto a HR, regardless of activity level - did an entire 45 minute workout, from warm up to barely able to breathe sparring work and my HR ranged from 123-125.
- Replacing batteries, resetting phone, flipping battery in chest strap, restarting app, et al has zero effect most of the time. I've even tried moving away from ALL electronic devices/lighting by going running 25 miles away from anything not made completely out of wood or dirt and still .. same issues.
If you're looking for an accurate method of keeping track of your calories burned, any HR related metrics or anything else you'd like to get from this device, I'd suggest duct taping a potato to your chest as it will be slightly less effective. I'll be throwing mine away as even the thought of having to spend 20-40 minutes per workout trying to get an accurate reading just isn't worth it.
Two stars because when it did work (for the first month-ish) it was very good.

Take my advice and buy s different product to measure and transfer your heartrate.
The good thing about this hear rate monitor is that the battery change (compared to the cadence and speed sensor) is super simple.
I also used the sensor once for running and the insights about ground contact time, steps etc. are great but not that helpful for me as I am not a passionate runner... if you are a passionate runner, then I am sure the insights will help you to review and maybe improve your technic.
I shouldn't have been concerned. I've had no problems at all, it's all worked great. Connected frictionlessly to my phone (Android - OnePlus 8 Pro) and treadmill (NordicTrack), read my heart rate easily, all good. I'm glad I bought it; recommended.
