High Magnification Ratio: 14xThanks to an excellent optical system, Canon's 14x32 IS binoculars can deliver impressive performance and a stunning, close-up view through a high magnification ratio of 14x. This makes it easy to see details and action that would likely be missed with the naked eye. From the intricate feathers of a bird on a branch, to the expression on the face of a graduating student or the ball flying out of the ballpark, what you want to see can be brought closer with the 14x32 IS binoculars. |
Lens Shift Image StabilizationThe 14x32 IS binoculars feature a powerful Lens Shift Image Stabilization system that’s remarkably effective in canceling out possible shaking made by movement and vibration. Borrowing technology from Canon’s EF lenses, Lens Shift Image Stabilization maintains a steady view by incorporating a continually adjusting vibration gyro mechanism, moving the IS lens both vertically and horizontally. This helps the 14x32 IS binoculars deliver clear and sharp images with minimal color fringing for a view that’s consistently pleasing to look at. |
Powered IS ModeOriginating from Canon’s high-quality video and digital camera technology, the 14x32 IS binoculars’ Powered IS technology significantly improves upon conventional binocular IS technology. Activated with the press of a button, Powered IS makes it easy to maintain a high-magnification view, especially in situations where body movement or strong shake might occur. Toggle between Powered IS and Normal IS to pick the ideal mode for the scene, whether your subject is still or in motion. |
Improved Design and Comfortable GripNot only does the incorporation of Lens Shift Image Stabilization improve optical performance, but it also has the added benefit of making the 14x32 IS binoculars easy and comfortable to hold. Through the miniaturization of the IS unit the binoculars provide an ergonomic and sturdy grip, allowing quick, intuitive access to the IS switch, focusing ring diopter and more, with ease. |

Field Flattener LensFor edge-to-edge sharpness, the 14x32 IS binoculars use a field flattening lens element. Countering the blurred effect typically rendered by the curvature of conventional lens elements, field flattener lenses help deliver a sharp, low-distortion image across the entire field of view. |
Super Spectra Lens CoatingTo suppress color bias, lens flare and ghosting as well as render a sharp view with contrast, the 14x32 IS binoculars incorporate Super Spectra Coating on its lenses. This coating effectively suppresses reflected light across a wide range of wavelengths, resulting in high contrast, high definition and a clear viewing experience. |
6.6 ft. (2m) Minimum Focusing DistanceA notable reduction over previous models, the 14x32 IS binoculars feature a minimum focusing distance of 6.6 ft. (2m) ideal for viewing animals, flowers and other small objects from a short distance. Combined with the 14x magnification ratio, it’s easy to see even the smallest details with the 14x32 IS binoculars. |

I would very much recommend these... I've had zero problems with them so far (but I've only had them for about a week).
When the item was delivered it appeared that the box had been opened. The internal packaging looked new, but the caps for the eyepieces were missing... the little seal on the box wasn't attached... although it wasn't clear if the adhesive on the seal had given out or if someone had opened the package before it was delivered to me. That aside, I'm still very happy with these binoculars.

First, let me be clear that these are quality binoculars--I just don't like the way they work. Maybe the image-stabilizing was defective on mine, or maybe it's just weird. But the image is clear and sharp, and both stages of image-stabilizing work effectively. The first mode is for when you're moving around, and it stabilizes kind of like my old first-generation 10x30s. But there's a weird jitter now and then, and overall it's not as smooth as the older ones. When the second stage is activated the stability is impressive: everything stops. Until it doesn't; after a few seconds mine would kind of jump and there was often a background jitter, even with my elbows planted solidly on a table. There's a lag like a videocamera screen that doesn't quite keep up with the motion--you move the binocs and the image shifts slightly later. That's partly by design: that mode is specified for stationary objects. But if you do move it's weird and if you don't, it might move on it's own. I won't say it actually induces motion sickness--but it goes down that road.
The eyecups are the worst I've ever used. Very stiff, and with my close-set eyes I can't get the width adjusted without pinching my nose. I mostly folded them back out of the way, even without glasses. Otherwise comfort was good: good grip and it's nice not having to hold down the IS button.
The stabilizer on mine was so bizarre I sent them back as defective, so consider that as you read this. With a test sample size of n=1 I can't be sure if they were defective or if they were actually working as designed--though I've used multiple Canon L lenses and camcorders with image stabilizing, not to mention the other binoculars, and it's hard to imagine Canon would let this out the door working in this irritating way.. I did find the optics to be wonderful. Clear, sharp stars at night with great contrast and little aberration. Bird feathers are crisp and distinct at 50 feet--that 14x power is a nice step up from the old 10-power ones. But if the stabilizer motion on mine was working as designed you might find it very unpleasant. The stiff eyepieces are a deal-breaker and overall I'd rather use the cheaper 10x30s, or for this kind of money, maybe the L-lens 10x42s.
1.) They work well with no weird stabilization lag or anything as reported in another review.
2.) The eye cups are comfortable enough and fold back onto themselves for use while wearing glasses. The eye cups are not as soft as my old canon 15x50 IS but they work fine. I don't know what the other reviewer was complaining about regarding the eye cups.

The IS functions are amazing both while scanning or looking at one subject without l moving. Seeing a solid view at 14x is amazing. You see so much more detail than you do with 8x or 10x and when you press one of the stabilization buttons and watch that “binocular movement” stop not only can you see better but it is relaxing to the eyes. These are expensive but they do the job. I would like to have a better case and strap and will look for something better.
