Product Description
Product Description
The Celestron SkyMaster 15x70mm binocular is the ideal choice for amateur astronomers or anyone who observes at great distances. The 70mm objective lenses have excellent light-gathering capabilities, delivering superior low-light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. Choose SkyMaster for dusk, dawn, and nighttime astronomical viewing. Moreover, the prisms inside the binocular are made of high-quality BaK-4 glass so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. The multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The binocular's durable exterior housing protects your SkyMaster from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through the SkyMaster binoculars is comfortable for eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the foldable rubber eyecup. The SkyMaster binocular is tripod-adaptable, so you can use the built-in binocular tripod adapter to mount it on any standard photographic tripod or monopod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). Buy with confidence from the world’s No.1 telescope brand and a leading binocular manufacturer, based in California since 1960. You’ll also receive a Limited Lifetime warranty and unlimited access to technical support from our team of US-based experts.

Binoculars come in a wide range of shapes and sizes these days, and an even wider range of prices. It's easy to spend less than $100 or more than $500 for what may appear to be, at least outwardly, comparable models. While they may look the same, they are probably quite different on the inside.

Can resolve the moons of Jupiter, could very faintly resolve the 12P comet, great detail and field of view for the Pleiades and Orion nebula.
Overall nice pair!
I've had bad experiences with inexpensive binoculars in the past, but these seemed like a great deal with plenty of positive reviews on Amazon. After taking about 30 minutes to sit down and play with the binocular and make all the adjustments (diopter and focus as well as the IPD), I have to say these are very good. The optical clarity is exceptional. In my opinion, it is close to the Steiner binoculars we used in the military - but the Steiner had different coatings on the lenses that made a purplish/bluish hue for the images and had obviously better exterior construction.
The Celestron Skymaster doesn't feel cheap, but it isn't exactly a high-end pair of binoculars. The center focusing mechanism constantly shifts especially when you lift the binoculars by the eyepiece assembly. You can see it spinning by itself! The lens caps aren't tethered and feel cheap. But they have a decent heft, yet don't feel too heavy to absolutely require a tripod.
I bought the Skymaster mainly for outdoor use. After adjusting the focus ring, I was able to focus clearly on objects as close as 10 yards and as far out as 200 meters. Identifying small and fine features at 200m would require stabilization like a tripod. But I've used cheap optics in the past that had a difficult time focusing clearly at 100 yards with excessive chromatic aberration and shimmering. The Skymaster doesn't seem to exhibit this behavior, although there is slight chromatic aberration at the outer edges of the image. The large 70mm objective lenses allow for the binoculars to work even in low light conditions.
I did not have any problems with collimation like many others reported. However, I noticed I'd see double until I relaxed my eyes and allowed it to collimate automatically. I wonder if these users that report collimation issues suffer from astigmatism or need their vision corrected. I hear tons of complaints about EOTech, Aimpoint, and Trijicon ACOG optics looking like a cluster of grapes and they assumed it was a defective optic, but this usually occurs when your vision isn't corrected to 20/20.
Overall: 4/5 stars, overall it exceeded my expectations. It is inexpensive but works extremely well. Optical quality is great, but the exterior construction could be better. There are no tethered lens caps, and the focus adjustment has a mind of its own if you touch the eyepiece assembly. But overall, it is actually a good pair of binoculars at this price point.

Last week, visited the dark sky site and saw the beautiful sky with full of stars with naked eye and once I used this binocular then I and my kids were really amazed. We also saw the Jupiter and its 4 or 5 shining moons and also saw the Saturn with its rings.
Last night, viewed the Super Blue Moon (August 30, 2023) from my balcony and moon was really brighter and clear from the binocular, I never saw the moon that much brighter and clear live from my eyes. I also captured the pictures from my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE phone camera through the eyepiece of binocular and pictures are attached but not that clear as it was directly from binocular but still I love these pictures. I had to take these pictures via PRO mode with different ISO, Aperture and White Balance settings hence moon colors are different.
This is the first binocular I bought in my life and I'm really happy.
I also bought the Amazon basics Tripod stand for night sky view for long time.
It is not very light but I and my kids can hold and view the moon and sky easily but if you want to see planet like Saturn or Jupiter then you will need Tripod stand otherwise due to vibration from your hands you cannot view properly or if you want to take pictures of sky and moon then you must need Tripod stand.
I definitely recommend Celestron 15x70 binocular.

(Acrux).
