This review is for the aluminum version of the Coleman camp chair with side table, which is lighter, more expensive, and has a lower weight capacity than the steel version.

I'm too old for those camp chairs that fold up to fit in a canvas bag. I just don't find them comfortable any more. This looked promising and it has delivered far more even than I'd hoped. It is sturdy, and doesn't wobble around. It is relatively easy to deploy, though it takes a bit of effort to snap it in place against the tension of the fabric. This tension helps to keep the chair rigid. It is really comfortable and remarkably light. The side table is perfectly functional.

I bought two of these and one of the steel version. They have the same features and work the same way. Both versions are comfortable to sit in. However the steel one is 4 or so lbs heavier than the aluminum (this) version. It also has a higher weight capacity. I would not have thought that 4 or so lbs would make much of a difference in loading and carrying a chair, but it does to me.

The aluminum one is about $20 more expensive and has a considerably lower weight capacity, but it is worth it.

Coleman Deck Chair With Table.
This folding chair is lightweight and easy to open and close. The chair has an open height of 31"H, closed height of 30 1/2"H, and a seat height of about 17"W. With use, the front edge of the fabric may stretch out and droop a bit to 16 3/4"H or possibly a little less than that. The overall seating width between the arms is 20 3/4". The closed width of the chair is about 6"W. The open width of the chair with the table folded is 24 3/8"W. The overall width of the chair with the table open is 34 1/2"W. A tiny drop of oil on each of the hinge points will make it easier to open and close, being careful not to drip oil onto the fabric, but the table hinges may still require a little manual encouragement to lock open. The silver painted flat tube construction is heavy aluminum that will not tear through like the usual cheap interwoven-seat folding chairs with round tubes that are sold in drugstores. The folding table has a cup holder with a cutout for a coffee cup handle. The padded sack style cloth seat is comfortable, as is the padded back rest. The chair arms have wrap-around pads for comfort. The weight of the chair is seven pounds, making it a bit of a bulky and heavy nuisance to carry around for a few hours on a fair grounds or golf course, but it is great for long term use like watching a parade or just reading in the yard. The weight limit is listed as 225 pounds, but it holds my 280 pounds without a problem. The only problem I have had, is with one of the black plastic end caps falling off. I solved this by using silicone glue to glue all four of the end caps in place. I bought another one of these chairs two years ago, and other than the color of the fabric, the only difference I can see is that the metal on the old chair was not painted, just bare aluminum. This chair is very well made and should last you for years, provided that you don't leave it outside permanently, where the table top and fabric could rot away, or your family members don't borrow it and either leave it someplace, or just forget to return it. Use a permanent marker to put your name or initials on it, someplace where it is visible when the chair is either open or closed.

The chairs are very lightweight but sturdy. They are aluminum! I lifted them out of the box with one hand. They are very comfortable with a great deal of back support. The seat is firm. as is the back but with comfortable give. both are padded. The arms have a wraparound padding for comfort that is easily removed. I like the way the back and arms are slightly angled so that you are not rigidly upright. And the back attaches to the seat like a sling giving more support or room for a small pillow. The attractive table has two locking mechanisms. I love the overall attractive look of the chair. There is talk of the low back but when I measured it against my good chairs, it wasn't low. Maybe if you're really tall it would be a problem but we're extremely comfortable it these chairs. MOST IMPORTANT. I read in a review the easy way to close the chair. It works. I'll repeat. Stand to the side of the chair, not in front. Put your foot on the bottom rung. Lift the center of the seat from the back and front. It will snap a release and folds easily. Remember to release the table first. Enjoy!!

This chair is solidly built and comfortable. The table is very useful for holding the various bits and bobs you're trying to manage when you're camping – much nicer than having to reach into a pocket for your knife, phone, or whatever.

I wish the drink holder was deeper. If I put a can or bottle in there, I'm afraid that a jostle from a child or a wagging tail of a dog might knock my drink out of the holder. If you don't have to worry about that stuff, it's fine.

Compared to chairs that fold into a tube-like shape and can be stuffed into a long, thin bag with a shoulder strap, this chair isn't that portable. It folds flat, so carrying it means you're carrying a folded folding chair. It's heavier than chairs made for portability (which makes it feel so sturdy when sitting) so that makes it less portable. I own both types of chairs, and I'll never choose this Coleman if I know that I'll be walking with it e.g. outdoor concerts, tailgating, lounging at the beach/river. On the other hand, I'll always choose it if I'm hanging out in the yard with my kids or anywhere I don't have to go far; it's much easier to deploy it than taking a chair out of a bag.

When I'm trying to maximize storage in my car for a trip, I find its shape to be an awkward storage outlier for the back of my car or my rooftop pod. Again, I'm comparing it to the type of chair that goes into a bag, which can be jammed into whatever space you have.

It's great chair for what it is, and especially if you're not the one that has to get it to where you're going.

Fabulous chair. Superb quality frame and fabric. Will clean easily when necessary and wear well. Really sturdy frame, chair seat is wide, feels great for my back. Padded arms are a great touch - not just cloth but rubber padding underneath that cloth covering. Table is solid and manages to even be attractive rather than cheap-looking. This was a bargain on Amazon compared to some other sources. The ONLY surprise was all the photos show a BLACK/GREY chair and the product description clearly says "Grey", referring I suppose to the colour of the top accent colour. What arrived was not what was pictured - it was a khaki TAN chair seat and arm pieces and the accent colour at the top of the chair was BLACK. So if you don't mind TAN/BLACK instead of BLACK/GREY, order away. Description should be updated to show a tan & black chair so people know they may get that selection. It is an attractive chair in those colours, just not what was pictured or what I expected. Has it been red, orange, weird green or some other strange combination I would have returned it for not being as ordered. However, it's a great chair and I'm happy with it! We bought these chairs as a birthday gift for senior parents. They are lightweight and comfortable and the side table makes them perfect for camping where picnic table space is at a premium. They are a little more bulkier than conventional lawn chairs, but the added padding and side table are worth it. The materials are very good and the finish is durable and doesn't show any sign of wear or rust after several weeks of outdoor living.

We bought two more for ourselves! Recommended.

Easy to carry but really a sturdy comfortable chair. Took it to the beach and I had the best chair compared to our other friends . Loved the tray with drink slot too. Very convenient !
