The audio sounds fine. I don't pretend to be an audiophile and I don't listen to music much anymore -- mostly audiobooks, podcasts, and YouTube -- so I won't attempt to judge the full audio range of it. Also I pretty much never make voice calls on my iPhone so I don't know how well the mic would work.
Tricky to measure the battery life, since there is no way to turn these buds off except to insert them into their case, at which point they start to recharge. If you just disconnect them and set them on the counter outside of their case, they remain "on" and the battery may be drained next time you go to use them, so don't do that. But once I drained the battery of the case itself, I could commence tracking battery life, as at that point the buds are turned off when in the case, and cannot recharge in a depleted case. When the case drains to 4% battery, it will slow down how much it charges the buds, but does gradually deplete to zero. But close enough to say that when the case gets to 4% it stops effectively charging the buds.
On iOS, upon opening the case, you get a nice window that automatically pops on the iPhone or iPad giving the exact battery levels of case and buds (this however does not happen when the case is truly drained, though you can plug it into the charger for just a moment to power up the case and activate the battery window). One annoyance here: that automatic popup window only pops up about 60-70% of the time. Often it just doesn't appear, even though the buds are automatically connecting. And if the window does not automatically appear, there is no way to manually force it to appear -- aside from just shutting and then opening the case until it works (Maybe a software update will fix that someday.)
So at that point of draining the case to turn OFF recharging, how long do the buds last on just their own batteries? I tracked this and my observation is about 8.5 hours (far better than my earlier Powerbeats ever performed).
But unless you plan to wear the buds for a single extended session that doesn't much matter. I use mine for walking and working out, so I'm not often going to need them for more than 2 hours at a shot. What matters for me is the life of fully charged buds AND case together, using the case to charge the buds as needed til they both expend their batteries. I tracked this accumulated usage also, and found I got 26.0 hours of usage by the time both case and buds were depleted. Note -- the battery meter gets wonky at low charge. When I did finally get the buds down to 25% and stored them in drained case, the next day the buds were dead.
Of course how I'm REALLY going to use the case is to plug it into the charger long before any battery gets low, so effectively battery life is just not going to be a concern with these buds, whereas my earlier Powerbeats required some attention: I had to be very careful to plug in those buds after every second walk or workout, and often did have the battery die mid-activity. These new Powerbeats Pros are just infinitely better in that regard and really no complaints.
I'll come back and add one complaint: the case is pretty but is as slick as a wet bar of bath soap. It's even SHAPED like a bar of bath soap. I've dropped it multiple times, and I'm afraid I'll break it. So, I'll uglify this pretty case by slapping on some masking tape for a bit of friction. As with Apple's history of atrocious Apple TV remotes, sometimes Apple lets pretty design trump practicality.
Now let’s talk about my:
Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earphones (color: RED)
Cost: $159.00 + tax (free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping)
Comfort: OMGoodnes, the difference is night & day from the AirPods! Yes, they wrap around your ear but it nice you put them on you can barely feel them. They have 3 different squishy ear-hole plugs to help them fit snuggly but COMFORTABLY into the opening of your ear. Not everyone’s ear is the same size. In my opinion, whole ear piece is light weight and made of a soft rubbery material - not at all hard like the AirPods. Also the water resistant wrap-around prevents them from falling off with activity - whether that activity be yoga, running or on a conference call and you are moving from one place to another. Yes, you can use these to listen to music & take phone calls. You can use them exactly as you would AirPods, just a hella lot more comfortably! I literally give these a 10/10 on comfort!
Sound Quality/Noise Cancelation: Beats in general are known for having a higher quality of sound. These aren’t Bose, but they didn’t forget the BASS! There are all the controls on the ear pieces (you can go mono-earpiece too) themselves & you can also use Siri to turn up & down volume take calls & end calls. I highly recommend going & watching a YouTube demo on all this so you get the most out of ALL the features on these wireless Powerbeats Pro. In my opinion the sound quality is about an 8/10 on these with Bose or actually the higher quality Shure getting at 10/10.
Pairing: these have the H1 chip, which is what powers all Apple’s newest speakers (HomePod) & AirPods & it’s why pairing is super simple with all Apple devices. I have an iPhone 10 and an iPad Air1 plus a Windows PC and experienced zero problems with these Powerbeats Pros getting paired or ever coming unpaired from my devices. For Apple devices it has some smart paring features like if you remove one or both of the Powerbeats from your ears it pauses the music - again to get fully versed take about about 10 minutes and watch a YouTube tutorial and you’ll know everything quickly. In terms of my devices for pairing I give these 10/10.
Battery Life: Between the quick charge battery feature from the case these for me at 15 hours have all the battery life that I need. I see where some people have complained about the size of this case and I’m sorry, I don’t understand that. Yes, this case is bigger than the AirPods case, but I do not try to shove an AirPods case (nor my phone) in my pocket. Full disclosure I am a girl, but one who doesn’t like to carry around a huge purse. Ears are definitely not one size fits all, and I would consider that before worrying about the size of the case for these wireless Powerbeats Pros. I usually put these on to charge overnight with my phone (case charges with a lightening adapter) and they & the case are 100% fully charged when I get up to work the next day.
I have only fully drained them (and case) once in the last 42 days that I’ve owned them. On that day I had back-to-back meetings from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, used them for music in between, used them for yoga, a 45 minute run that evening using my run playlist streamed from Spotify on my iWatch and several personal phone calls. I typically NEVER put my phone to my head so these get heavy use. The shortest charge cycle they have gotten in the last 42 days of ownership is 5 hours. Battery Life/Power is a 10/10
Overall these have been worth every last cent that I paid for them ($159.00). I highly recommend them with an
OVERALL RATING of 9.5/10
I have been using the headphones for about a week. And haven’t had to recharge the case since the initial charge. So battery life is good.
The sound is good it is not often that I notice a bass being too much or little. When I’m outside running I can hear the music and a bit of the ambient noise for safety. So these check the sound box for me.
They connected easily to my iPhone XR and have the same kind of interface that AirPods do (seeing as they are an Apple product I would expect that).
All around they are good workout headphones. If you are in the market and willing to pay the cost I think they are well worth the price.

The sound quality is good. Because of the type of music I usually listen to, I know that I am not taking full advantage of the bass. However, I wasn't looking for the highest quality for my workout earphones. I use the Sony WF-1000xm3 when I work or commute, so these stay in my gym bag. For that same reason, I don't mind having the bulkier case. I don't carry it with me and I appreciate the long battery life that it provides.
I also loved the color! I was hesitant at first because it is not a bright red (it's a bit more orangy), but in the end I really liked the way they looked. Considering that these are exclusively my workout earphones, I appreciate the bolder color. In conclusion, good audio for working out (at least at home, where I've tested them), good battery (with a bulky case) and a nice design (they look high quality and I like the color).
The biggest flaw IMO is the inability to turn them off. They drain the battery while outside the case, unless not moving, but even then the sleep mode consumes battery. This will probably lead to quicker shortening of battery life, unless the case does battery maintenance, which I doubt, as that would have been advertised or listed in specs. Ultimately they will become trash faster, which isn't good for the environment.
