The build quality of the earphones and the case is reassuringly solid. Nothing flimsy or fragile about it, which is nice. Charging indicator showing red orange and green is nicely informative, and you can press a button on the case to see your charge level otherwise so you're not caught out.
Earphones fit comfortably in my ears. 4 choices of size gives a good range, but I go for the largest. They seal well and stay in place without the need for constant adjustment. They don't feel too heavy or jiggle too much.
The app is decent and easy to use. When setting the audio, a little more guidance would be helpful for people without much knowledge of audio, but there are only 3 settings to adjust so it's not massively hard (I went for a bit up on the bass and treble, bit down on the mid and was happy). You'll have to do a firmware upgrade straight out of the box so I'd recommend getting that out of the way before you plan to use them for peace of mind, but they do work immediately if you'd rather do it later.
At first I was a little bit disappointed with the audio, but then realised it was a stupid volume normalisation setting on my streaming app that was ruining it. Once I turned that off, the sound was impeccable. Hugely rich, great clarity. I hear things in songs I have listened to for years that I have never noticed before. Even at loud volumes listening to metal music, they can cope with a lot going on without becoming distorted.
Battery life is good. There is better on the market, but it's still long enough to get a good amount of use from without running flat. You'll only run afoul of it if you have epic listening sessions and/or keep forgetting to charge things.
Passive noise cancelling is fairly standard for this type of earphone, but it works well enough. Once the music is playing I can't hear anything when I am out and about, and compared to things like airpods, it's great.
I cannot recommend them enough. They are not cheap, but really good value for money for what they offer.

Before trying the CX 400BT, I was a big fan of Bose sound signature and couldn’t afford Bose QuiteComfort earbuds as they cost around 27k. I waited for a long time to buy them on a discount due to the excellent and highly rated ANC feature, but to no avail. I loved the sound on Bose SoundSport Free, but when I used them while travelling, the quality faded due to lack of noise cancellation. But the buds are very comfortable and when you listen to them in the absence of noise, I felt they were awesome, that is until I tried Sennheisers.
I have read very positive reviews about Sennheisers everywhere and Momentum 2 were the highest rated among ANC earbuds but are also above 20k. I was ready to spend around 12k and so picked CX400BT even though I doubted their performance. It has been nearly one month since I started using them and believe me, the clarity and quality of sound on these is just awesome and no match with the Bose earbuds which are high on bass and slightly muffled compared to these if you listen side by side. No need of ANC if you have these buds, as their passive noise cancellation is almost equal to ANC and leak no noise during travel.
The battery back up is awesome (getting around 20 hours after full charge) and the buds are comfortable in the ear and do not look very big in the ears as claimed by some reviewers. Call quality and connectivity are good. Passive noise cancellation is excellent.
The app supports equaliser, but the neutral profile is the best. Treble may be a little on the higher side for those who like more bass, which may be adjusted by one notch for the best sound quality which is my favourite. I am a bass lover, and these do perform to my liking completely even though you feel them to have less bass compared to other buds such as Bose or Jabra. Jabra elite active 75t were also equally good but the sound signature is not match to Sennheiser. After getting habituated to Sennheiser, I feel that the Bose earbuds do not sound as good. Listen to Sennheisers to believe it.
Only one negative with CX 400BT is their case, which is plasticky and of poor quality. The case gets scratched easily and feels very delicate in hand. I would have felt more happier if the case is of better quality especially as these cost around 12k.
However, I gave these buds five stars and recommend these to anyone who’s looking for best quality of sound at this price range. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
Sennheiser CX400BT are the best buds in any price range!! Look no further if you can afford them!
