Some of the pieces have the decals already on them. There is a small decal sheet with just a few stickers. Bags are numbered, and the manual is ordered by bag number (ie: section 1 for bags #1, all the way through section 4).
The packaging from Lego was over the top. The model was within a slightly larger box (and was very snug), and that box was padded within a much larger box.
If you like Technic sets, I'd definitely get this one. And if it's like past Lego sets of this kind, get two!

Altamente recomendable.
I'm not actually a huge fan of Porsche's cars - although I did really enjoy building the Lego Ferrari F40 a couple of years ago - but after receiving a gift voucher, I cast around for a Lego set to buy with it, and decided on this one. I'm very glad I did!
This is, without a doubt, the most intricate and complex Technic set in the range. The finished car includes a 4-speed sequential gearbox operated by steering-wheel paddles, with an additional selector for forward / reverse / neutral. It has a working flat-six engine, double wishbone suspension all round and rack-and-pinion steering. It even has Porsche-branded brake calipers on every wheel (albeit rectangular rather than curved, but then that's hardly surprising with Lego!)
Just opening the box is an experience - this is the best-packaged Lego set I have ever seen, with the pieces packed into four individual inner boxes and the wheels displayed in a fifth. The assembly instructions run to over 500 pages, and the book includes an introduction section talking about the creation of the set.
So far, I've spent around 5 hours on this, and am about 2/3 of the way through building it. It's already hugely impressive.
There are a couple of small niggles - the pieces in each box are not further subdivided into individual numbered bags, so you'll need some sorting trays to make sense of the several hundred pieces in each box. Also, as someone else has mentioned, the detailed engineering is all hidden once the bodywork is in place, so make sure you play with the drivetrain (and understand the sheer genius of its construction) before you build the rest!
But don't let those put you off. This is, hands down, the best Technic set I have ever built. If you like Technic, you want this...
