Product Description

In this highly tactical and interactive game, create the best combos to build the most effective and attractive piece of land and secure your victory! When a new land full of resources is discovered, the air in the village is full of competition: the new architects will have four days to build the most functional buildings in the new city! In each round, give strategic orders to your workers: either send them build new architectures, or make them harvest new resources (such as wheal, fish, wood or rock), which you will need for your constructions but also to feed your workers after each day, if you want to avoid a serious penalty! But be careful: if your workers need resources on areas owned by opponents on the board, you will have to pay them too! To reach your goals, it will be crucial to decide which placement is the best for each worker and each building, to make the best out of the natural resources provided by the various areas.

From the manufacturer

IELLO: Little Town, Strategy Board Game

In Little Town, you lead a team of architects and must dispatch workers to the town, collect resources and money, build buildings, and develop this little town

In the game, which lasts four rounds, you can acquire resources such as wood, stones, fish, and wheat from the surrounding squares by putting workers on the board, with three workers being placed each round. When you place a worker, you acquire the resources available in all eight surrounding spaces. You can build buildings by using these resources, and you — or any other player — can gain the effect of the building when place a worker next to it; if you place next to a building owned by another, however, you must pay them a coin before you can collect those resources.

Players collect victory points by using the powers of buildings, by constructing buildings, and by achieving goals dealt to them at the beginning of the game. After four rounds, whoever has the most victory points wins.

Great light worker placement game where you are building your board. Attractive art and components. Easy to learn and teach. Plays quickly.

The game plays over 4 rounds. Each player has a certain number of workers depending on player count. On your turn, you can either (1) place a worker on an empty square on the board to gather resources or activate buildings in the 8 squares that surround your worker, or (2) use a worker (and resources) to build a building that you will place on an empty square of the map. Most buildings give immediate points when built and have an ability that can be activated on future turns. When placing a building, you put one of your color houses on it. You can activate that building for free in later turns, or other players can pay you a coin to activate your building. The choice of where to place your worker on the board becomes more and more interesting as buildings begin to fill up the formerly empty squares.

Each player also has secret goals that will give them extra points if achieved.

This game does not overstay its welcome. With 4 players, each player will only have 12 turns. (3 workers per round). Little Town is extremely easy to learn and teach. Highly recommended for families and gamers who enjoy lighter fare with fun choices.

This might be viewed as just another worker placement game, but I like the mechanics and the components are visually attractive. With two players each side tends to cluster their buildings with little cross over. Having to pay $1 for using another building makes it difficult enough that it's never easy to leverage the other player's buildings. Expensive buildings may not always be a good investment. They can be tricky to play. Having two boards adds to variety. Well balanced and always entertaining for gamers of all abilities.

I picked this up after a podcaster review. This is a short duration, easy to learn worker placement game for 2-4 players. Each turn you are either buying a building or putting out a worker and triggering nearby buildings or resources. Easy as that! Since you choose the order in which the affected buildings trigger, there is also the ability to strategize which buildings should be placed near each other and what order to trigger them in. I thought this was a great, lite game for developing that strategic thinking. The production quality is very good.

When you're looking for something light and fun check this game out. The rules are simple to learn and gameplay goes pretty fast. The board is a field with randomly spread out lakes, forests, and mountains. Place your worker on the board and he collects resources that are adjacent to him. Use those resources to build structures that can produce other resources, coins, or to gain stars. Be sure to have enough wheat and fish to feed your workers at the end of the round. The one who has the most stars at the end of the game wins. The game is different every time as the structures you can build are randomized for each game. The board can be flipped over for a different field where the forests, lakes, and mountains are in a different location.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick, fun, simple but still need to plan

I bought this game partly because other gamers had recommended it, but also because it was an excellent price here. I am very glad I did. It's a great little game. It only has 4 rounds, so it plays through very quickly, even if you debate your turn for a bit. It's a straightforward worker placement, resource gathering, building type game, but because there are only 4 rounds you have to make sure to maximize your VP collection with still having enough food to feed your workers at the end of each round. I would highly recommend this game to anyone, whether they are established at these sorts of games or not. It is tidy, quick and fun. I think it is a good intro game into bigger, similar games of its type.
