The Worx XTD Screwdriver Works
I was putting up some shelves and was using my Craftsman Nextec drill/driver. However, since I didn't want that much space between each board, I needed a smaller tool. After evaluating several different electric screwdrivers, I decided to get the Worx XTD screwdriver. The main reason is because of the small size and unique feature of having an extendable bit holder for places where an ordinary driver would not fit. The driver is small as only measures about 5 1/2 inches long with the extender retracted. With the extender extended to maximum length, that measures about 8 inches long. The handle measures only about 4 inches long. The driver is made in China but feels pretty well built. The housing feels made out of plastic and metal. There is only one speed which is fast enough for screwing or unscrewing but since only one speed, may be too fast for using on a small, short screw. The fixed speed is one drawback. Another drawback I think is the handle length is a bit small so that the grip doesn't feel solid as my pinky hangs on the bottom of the driver and not on the handle.Overall, the driver does work and is handy to use on tighter spaces. It is a keeper for that reason. But improvements I would like to see are a longer handle and variable speed setting. Also with a pouch or case to hold the screwdriver.I've included some pictures for size reference.I give the Worx XTD screwdriver 4 stars.

I have owned several compact electric screwdrivers and this is definitely my favorite. Others may offer a little more torque and features like bit holders but this one, because of its design, is the most useful.

We mostly use this in a shop on our farm on machinery. One of this screwdriver's primary advantages is that the extension is mounted at the top of the body. Other models that have the extension mounted lower make it so you cannot access tight spaces. Because this one is at the top that surface can lay flush against a surface while operating.

The extra extension ability is very useful and totally reliable. We have never had one slip. They adjust quickly with just one thumb. We often use adapters for sockets as well as screws. It should be noted that overall, this screwdriver is actually more compact than most so not only does it give a better work angle, it is smaller in the hand and can often fit into tighter locations like in engine bays than some of the others we own.

None of these compact drivers have the power to compare with larger drills but they can tackle a ton of little projects, we use these more than any other electrical tools. The LED light is average compared to others and always comes on whether using forward or reverse, but only when the trigger is being squeezed. Battery life is as expected, we always keep them charged.

This is our second of these so I now have one to keep in my truck and one to keep in our shop. We like it that much. My father likes some Black & Decker drills I bought him years ago that he likes a little better because they are larger but he frequently has to switch to this one since it fits where others can't.

It would be great if these would come with a belt pouch or case, at least a way to keep the included bits with the drill.

Handy. Small, lightweight, love the "extend-a-bit" feature.

Specs (from instructions):

Wall Brick, ~1.0" x 1.5" x 2.5"m small cylindrical jack
Input 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz, 190mA
Output: 4.2VDC, 500mA
Battery Rated 4VDC, 1.5Ah Lithium-ion, charging time 5 hours
Max Torque: 27 in-# (seems about right. Quite stout)
No-Load Speed: 230 rpm (mine is MUCH slower, even fully charged. Not sure why).
Weight: 1.1#

Pros:

PRICE!
Small
"Extend-a-bit" is VERY, VERY, VERY handy.
Lots of Torque, maybe too much, but gets the job done. I didn't have any trouble stopping rotation when the screw set, but some might.

Cons (all minor, but worth mentioning):

LED is only moderately helpful, but at least not in the way. Comes on when you pull the trigger (during rotation). On mine, the center of light beam misses the target by about an inch.
Switch Left/Lock/Right is clumsy to use, too far from fingertips, too close to palm, but not a major issue.
Hefty (which some might consider a pro, not a con).
A *little* too small for my hand, and I have average man-hands.
Not speed-adjustable, and pretty slow, (Spec says 230rpm? Not even close! more like 100rpm), but I guess you wouldn't want faster, as you might strip heads at end of travel.
Pretty much need a pliers to remove bits. You can wiggle them out, but you eventually hurt your fingers.
No Bit storage with tool. It comes with a little strip of rubber you keep your bits in, but it is separate from the tool. Oh, well, keeps the tool light(er) and smaller.
Does not convert to "straight" configuration, like some competition tools.
Only accepts "one-sided" bits, not "two sided". Guess they were trying to keep it short/small.

Overall, for this price, a great tool, and I would definitely purchase this again if I lost or damaged it. I did some electrical work around the house with it (wall boxes, wiring, switches, outlets, cover plates), and it beats a large, heavy, cordless drill hands down! Made the job 20X easier.

A note on the battery. Li-ion batteries are best stored at about 50-60% charge. Leaving this on the charger will reduce battery capacity and lifetime. That sucks, because a better charger could automatically reduce the charge voltage during storage, but of course would increase the cost of the unit, so I understand why they chose the charger they did. At this price, just buy another one when the battery eventually goes.
