Product Description
We Happy Few for PlayStation 4
The We Happy Few Deluxe Edition includes both the game and the Season Pass. We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial in the city of Wellington Wells. In this alternative 1960s England, conformity is key. You'll have to fight or blend in with the drug-addled inhabitants, most of whom don't take kindly to people who won't abide by their not-so-normal rules. Discover the retrofuturistic city's dark history as you play through the intertwined narratives of three quietly rebellious citizens of Wellington Wells, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, as they face their pasts, prepare for the future, and engage in activities that aren't exactly status quo in the artificially enthused society. Pre-Order and get the exclusive in-game Jolly Brolly weapon at launch. There's a definite chance of pain when using this weaponized umbrella, complete with advanced blocking capabilities and trippy psychedelic interior. The Season Pass contains three pieces of future content for We Happy Few. Each add-on will be a new adventure that follows the antics of one of Wellington Wells' most notorious residents. All future content that is part of this pass will be accessible in-game once it is available.

Though I loved the story, there were multiple bugs that kept me from collecting everything I needed and opening fast travel in certain locations, which made some of the game a little tedious.
There were some quests that I couldn’t get to because they were bugged that I was unsure why they had even released it yet.
It was definitely playable and worth the money, but if I had know there would be issues like this on release, I would of held off until they were patched.
Don’t let the bugs stop you from purchasing this great game. I didn’t let it stop me from giving the game a solid five stars. All in all, it’s interesting and a very fun play through.
BUGS! The game crashed 15 times. At least 8 side quests were glitched and could not be completed. 4 quick travel sites were bugged and didn't work. The journal stopped updating, then fixed itself a few missions later. Many other intermittent problems occurred (butterfly net didn't work, for example). A load screen appeared often when a character walked, sometimes twice on the same street of a village, lasting 5 seconds to almost a minute. It takes almost 3 minutes to load a new game session.
In addition to bugs, there are poor game design decisions. In an all-too-typical fetch quest, an NPC will ask you to get an item from the other side of the map. When you get there, another NPC will say she will give you the item but only if you retrieve something for her... on the other side of the map. So, you go back across the map to get the second item, back across the map to give the second item, then back across the map to the original quest giver. Four times across the map for no narrative purpose ( exacerbated by the broken fast travel sites).
The game is fairly generous with raw materials for the first character you play and very stingy with the second character you play. You can spend an hour searching for a bobby pin necessary to complete a story mission while being almost constantly nagged by the game to do repetitive tasks and severely punished (with inventory overload) if you don't do them.
It's an interesting game, and I'm glad I played it all the way through, but by the final third I skipped everything except the story missions because I wanted to deal with as few frustrations as possible.
Suffers from problems with bland, generic NPCs that similar games, such as Bioshock, tend to have. There's also a slew of minor to moderate bugs, generally involving the physics engine. Looting is also somewhat strange, as the game doesn't really give you any indication to what things may be useful in the future.
Overall it is still an 8.5/10 and I will absolutely be sitting down and finishing this one.
