Running "E" OS on this phone, it works quite well and is completely debloated with zero google garbage on it. While I don't have many apps on it right now, the battery lasts about 48 hours between charges if I am not playing around with it, and this includes the always-on lockscreen with the clock showing.

I am currently using this for my adv bike and running the DMD2 nav app from Thork Racing. It is easy enough to read in direct sunlight, but you cannot use full screen brightness all day long, it must be set a couple "clicks" down from max, as wired charging cannot keep up with the load of the screen's full brightness and battery runs down while plugged into a 2.4A charging outlet.

Having said that, running it slightly dimmer than max is still easily viewable and about equal to my galaxy S7 at full screen (which also cannot keep up with charging at full brightness, hence the new S9+ phone).

Fully recommend this phone be run on E OS, its a very simple install and mostly automated. Its interesting to see just how fast these phones are without all the bloat and extra garbage installed by the manufacturer as well as the extra junk one's service provider forces onto the phone! I'd say its almost as fast as my debloated S20 ultra 5G phone.

So far so good. It worked with my wife's gsm sim card for str8talk. But it had problems. It couldn't receive calls, it could only call out. But all else worked on mobile data. Walmart somehow fixed it, which I am thankful for, but he didn't know how. It took him am hr on the phone and he was very irritable, understandably. It some how fix and he was like, well wth? That makes no sense!?! So that also makes no sense to me. Sorry I couldn't help with any future potential problems. She's only had it for 2 weeks. Will update in future. Hopefully before 2025.

After I got this phone set up into my network service, it started shutting off on its own when there was not a significant amount of power being fed to its display screen (EX every time I would lock the phone, it would shut down). I could keep the phone from shutting down if it was playing audio the entire time with at least the volume on 1/15. The fingerprint scanner stopped working for me within a couple of days. I returned that phone, got a replacement from the same seller, and figured it was just the specific phone I got. Luck of the draw.
However, after I got the next one. I started having the exact same problems.

Initially the phone's interface was responsive and enjoyable to use, and the battery lasted for a reasonably good time, and I am not someone who uses my phone that much so it was pretty good. After just 3 months however, issues with the phone refusing to charge started to appear and the battery lasted for shorter and shorter periods of time.

Now, 11 months from purchase (since 5 months after purchase), the phone is has a quickly dying battery (even in 1080p!), takes AGES to charge and does not charge at all most of the time. The S9 has also become very very slow and unresponsive. Occasionally it feels fine but most of the time the phone takes far too long to unlock and it randomly freezes on the lock screen and lags/freezes when using any part of the phone in general - it's quite frankly terrible. I have always kept 1-2 applications open at once and not more, yet the phone freezes constantly.

I recommend avoiding this phone series and choosing another phone such as a OnePlus, because as of yet, the S series is really too unreliable. I'm going to have to get a new phone because this phone is so faulty, not just faulty, but terribly slow and drained battery and charging-wise too. I'm not a high-requirements guy, especially for phones, but this was good looking trash that didn't last for long.

Die Preise für das S9 liegen derzeit bei unter 500,00 € (Mai 2019) und da mein altes Galaxy A5 2016 kaputt ist, habe ich mich wegen den positiven Bewertungen auf Chip.de, Amazon und Computerbild für dieses Smartphone entschieden.

Bei der Verarbeitung gibt es nichts zu meckern, kein Knistern oder Knarzen. Auch optisch macht das S9 einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck.
Der Startvorgang ist blitzschnell und liegt bei ca. 14 sec. , ein sehr guter Wert. Auch positiv die tolle Kamera und netten Video- Optionen, so kann man z. B. brauchbare Super-Slow-Mo Aufnahmen erstellen. Auch bei Nacht ist die Foto und Videoqualität anständig.
Das Display ist sehr scharf und alle Farben wirken satt und natürlich. Die erweiternde Funktion des abgerundeten Displays ist sehr praktisch.

Besonders gut finde ich die QI Ladefunktion und Ausdauer des Akkus, ich muss das Phone nur einmal am Tag aufladen.
Nicht so gut gefällt mir die Tonqualität des Lautsprechers, Ansagen von Google Maps knistern bei hoher Lautstärke und wirken blechern. Bei mittlerer Lautstärke liefert der Lautsprecher aber eine ordentliche Qualität.
Dafür ist die Tonqualität mit Kopfhörern ohne Beanstandung. Der Fingerabdrucksensor funktioniert zwar sehr gut ist aber etwas deplatziert und klein.
Zahlungen können mit dem integrierten NFC Chip und einem verknüpften GPAY Konto schnell und ohne Probleme durchgeführt werden.
Bei der Surfgeschwindigkeit gibt es keine Probleme, alles lädt sehr zügig und ohne Aussetzer (getestet mit LTE (30Mbit/sec und WLAN (50Mbit/sec).
Des Weiteren funktionierte die Kopplung mit der Bluetooth Freisprecheinrichtung bei mir im Auto ohne Probleme.

Fazit: Ausgezeichnetes TOP Oberklasse Smartphone, das nun bezahlbar ist.
