A lot of people don't get what this saw is good for. I do, and that's why I was willing to pay this much for a European tool with a 220 volt charger. I don't use it often, but it's a lifesaver in certain situations, and no other tool can do what it does.
For instance, if you need to reach into a hard-to-get-to place like a stud or fire block inside a wall, to carve out part of the wood without damaging the whole wall. I recently installed a 24" octagonal window, cutting out the needed hole from the outside of the house. There was a diagonal brace and two fire blocks in the way. Most people would be stuck trying to do it with a reciprocating saw but if you've ever tried to plunge cut a 2X4 inside a wall using a reciprocating saw, you know the problem... the blade bangs around and bends. Even if you're able to drill a starter hole and insert the blade through it, the saw is just too big and awkward to make the cut.
That's where this saw really shines, because it doesn't reciprocate. All cutting is in one direction, so you can easily point the tip into the middle of a board and plunge right through it. No bouncing or ruined blades. You can make as many cuts as you need to enlarge the hole to the size and shape you need.
This may be to much money for the average DIYer to justify, but I've used this on three separate remodeling projects, and it's saved me a lot of time and frustration. True, it comes with a 220 volt charger, but it isn't that hard to rig up a temporary outlet out of your breaker panel or a dryer outlet to charge it up. They probably make a 120 volt charger for it, but I haven't taken the time to look.
