Heart Rate, Echocardiogram works really good and track fairly accuratly. Sleep tracker does a good job knowing when you are actually asleep vs when you are just laying down watching tv or something.
Phone calls come in crisp and sound good and the person on the other end hears me well and says i come in clear.
Siri is excellent, very fast and responsive and responds without pressing a button (you have the ability to press a button if you want to trigger Siri by touch)
Battery life lasts about a day with heavy excercise/sleep tracking but lasts maybe 2-3 days with sensors turned off and light usage.
Charging cable is nice, the watch magnetizes easily and charges QUICKLY!!!!!!!!!
Watch does not look dumb it is the right size 44mm. I highly recommend getting yourself a plastic shell case to protect the screen so you dont accidently break/ scratch the screen.
All in all, perfect pal to your iphone, and most of the time you do not need to pull your phone out for messaging, phone calls, and basic information.
He has become more aware of when he is overdoing things (and receives an increased heart rate notification) or needs to wear hearing protection (when he receives a noise notification). He now remembers to wear the ear protection that we've tried to get him to wear more often in the past, and will stop what he's doing to take a breath when he receives a heart rate notification. (Rather than just waiving off the fellow human who tries to tell him to take a break.) He loves the ability to make and take calls via his wrist (especially when his phone is in another room or in an awkward position to pull out while wearing gloves or something).
Overall, this has been a great purchase. I'm curious to see what features become available in future WatchOS updates and future Apple Watch versions.
Battery life: I have to charge it about once every 2 days. With the wireless charger, this is very easy and it charges fully in about 1-2 hours
Connectivity: It always stays connected to my phone at home and probably stays connected when I am not home for about 100 feet or so. I like that if my phone is out of range, it can use the wifi network to function. The GPS is also very reliable.
Heart Rate sensor: the watch will tell me when my heart rate is abnormal and also will let me know what the status is during the cool down stage after my runs. I do not have heart issues, but the ECG option is a nice feature for people with Atrial fibrillation.
It is water resistant up to 50M. I swim, shower, etc with the watch on and have never had an issue with it. The GPS feature and Swim Workouts also allow you to track swimming workouts.
Customizability: there are plenty of watch faces for everyone, and the series 4 and later show even more complications (information) than the previous models.
Workouts:
I track my HIIT workouts through the Nike Training Club App which works excellent. The workout displays on my phone and I will do the moves while the watch tracks my workout.
I use the Nike Running App to track all my runs and it works very well on Apple Watch even if you leave the phone at home. after reconnecting, the watch will sync runs to the iPhone.
I use the standard Apple Watch Work out app or an app called "Zones" to track any strength training or other workouts like BMX, Skateboarding, etc
Health: The watch tells me when to stand, encourages me to close my exercise goals when im lagging behind, and when I am stressed, tells me to breath and helps me calm down. I also use myfitnesspal to track my calories, which has a pretty decent Apple Watch app.
Sleep: the sleep function will be much better in the new watch os that comes out Sept. 2020, but for now I use an app called sleep ++ which reminds me when to go to bed and tells me how poorly I have slept.
Overall, while I mostly use this app for working out, it is really nice to raise my wrist and see everything from the temperature, uv index, my next meeting, my activity rings (exercise goals), to even the moon phase or sunset time. This watch just keeps getting better.
