I wanted a jump rope that would do the job, but I wanted one that was cheap for an amateur. The Amazon Basics jump rope is surprisingly well-made. The "rope" is weighted just enough to make it go around at average speed. If you have used cotton or nylon ropes, you know that they can sometimes be too light and you have to swing them faster to make them go over your head. This jump rope doesn't have that problem. The handles are nice--maybe a little fat for smaller hands--but not problematic. I keep it stored in a loose coil. The rope hasn't bent or deformed--it doesn't seem to bother it however you store it. Good length. I am 5'6", and I have no problem using it. Someone taller, even close on 6' could probably use it just fine. Overall, good value. No complaints.

Our son was getting into personal fitness and wanted a basic jump rope to exercise with. This was a quick and easy purchase and cheap but it wasn't worth it. The jump rope took a long time to relax and be easy to work with. It is also too light to use for a beginner who was literally just learning to jump rope. We ended up grabbing some heavier rope until he better at it and then went back to this.

Does it work? Yes it does. Would we buy it again? Definitely not.

It is adjustable on one end only. The end is obvious if you look at both ends. You have pry the top off the end. Not that easy. Then shove the rope out. Look at the pictures on the Amazon site to figure out the rest of it. After figuring out how long I needed it, I cut it a little long in case I needed more. It works great. I am 72 and haven't jumped rope in decades. It is much harder than I remember, but I am doing it. I just got it so I don't know how long it will last. Probably a long time for me as I can't jump more than a minute at a time. The jump rope is great, the jump roper is pathetic.

this is a great Jump rope. you have to cut it to fit your height, it's super long so even if you are tall it's plenty long. material gets hard if left in the cold so I leave it inside for few minutes before using (I workout in garage). it's lightweight and durable. handles has foam coating, wish it was rubber.
