Exceptional Beard Trimmer: Washable, Smooth Trim/Shave, Great Value, & Simply Awesome

Awesome beard trimmer :O Has ~40 settings of beard length you'd like to trim your beard to, is completely washable with water (I tested it, I even washed inside the trimmer handle and still worked after drying in the air) although I would wash inside the trimmer handle seldom to not damage any electrical parts, and the trimmer is very smooth on your skin giving a clean shave but not cutting oneself while trimming. The additional razor is awesome o.O This is an amazing deal, get this trimmer now. Charges in ~10 hours to full and keeps a charge for days or even weeks with my testing. Very modern look, black with blue settings and power button, simply a great product~

Edit: 4 years later and this trimmer works amazingly. Still just as good as when I first bought it. I charge the trimmer about once every 3 weeks & put one drop of sewing machine oil on the blades while it's running for 5 seconds, once every 5-6 weeks. I use the trimmer once weekly.

Pro's:
1. It cuts the beard evenly, and glides comfortably.

Con's
1. Full power only last about 20 minutes, and afterwards gradually loses strength.
2. Be careful with the guard. Even though it snaps on, sometimes it doesn't completely cover the blade. Almost shaved half my beard off.
3. The length settings cut lower than suggest. If you used clippers, than a 0 guard for a Wahl, is equivalent to a 3mm setting with the Braun.
4. Hair clippings will be everywhere. I will look to purchase trimmers with the vacuum feature.

With most trimmers, the length settings are inexact. What is 3 mm on one is 2.5 mm on another, and so forth. These settings, which are easily dialed in, are accurate, as I measured them on a micrometer. I like a 3mm length--exactly 1/8 inch--and this is what I get. The unit is quiet. It is easy to hold. The plastic guard looks a little flimsy but is replaceable. You need to charge it the full eight hours to get the 50-60 minutes life. I've only had it for a few months, but will revise review if battery life is insufficient. I've had a number of budget-priced trimmers, and no single one is perfect. This one is about as close as you can get.

Update: after nearly two months of daily use the battery is still charged: I mention this as it has been a complaint on here. No slippage in the settings, very quiet, and works on my hair as well

This arrived on my doorstep on Monday night and I used it right away. There are a total of 40 different settings created by two different guides and controlled by the dial in the front.

I bought this to use to trim by beard to specific lengths. I believe it does this very well. It cuts evenly and gives me pretty much all the length control I could ever need.

However, this is described as a beard/hair trimmer. My expectation was that trimming head hair would be a challenge. I tried to use this on the sides and back of my head and it worked, but not well. I have very thick hair so maybe I'm just a special case. It isn't as efficient as an actual hair trimmer but if this is all you've got, you should be able to get it done.

Well this review comes from a Braun fan, I have had my electric razor from Braun for over seventeen years, admittedly they no longer make the replacement foil and blade. But they are easily found on ebay and other specialty razor sites. So, there was no hesitation in my part to buying a Braun beard trimmer as I only use my electric razor for my cheeks & neck. I have had nothing but great experience with Braun products.

As for my prospective on the product know that I have had a two Remington Titanium which the batters always seem to die or cannot hold a charge. I have had the Philips Norelco beard trimmer as well and that did not last too long. By far the trimer that lasted me the longest was a Remington battery operated trimer that was made to be disposable. This of course comes from about a good ten year run of experience with beard trimmers.

That all being said, I was on the hunt for a new beard trimmer and found the Braun series of beard and hair Trimmer for men. They have three models: the BT3040 with knob adjacent and extended battery life, The BT3040 with knob adjacent regular battery life and the MGK3020 with grooming attachments and regular battery life. They are all under twenty-five dollars on Amazon.

I am reviewing the BT3040 with knob adjacent and extended battery life. So far, I have used it for a few weeks now. It’s not overly loud and the blade action is smooth along with wonderful adjustability. Comes with a free razor and one other guard for longer beards. The weight is not overly heavy and fits well in your hand. It is half the cost of a Braun BT5070 but they did not skimp on the products durability or design of function and form. What I like the most that the BT3040 has carried over from the higher end trimmer is the Precision dial. I shave half my beard for the summer and run a short-trimmed goatee. For winter, I keep it trimmed but a bit fuller. So, this model is perfect for the man who changes his beard for the sessions. It can be used to trim and keep up your head but overall I use it on my face, if you are looking (the Tony Stark Look) for a smaller attachment and want to form and shape your chin there is no smaller guard or razor attachment. Does not come with a case but if you so desire one buy an Amazon basic case as I did. Over all it was a bargain and the quality can be seen and felt for this trimer. For this price range, you cannot beat this trimmer.

Works well. The battery life s good. I’ve had mine for a month and still have a strong battery. I use the trimmer on my facial hair and then use the Gillette Fusion razor to shave. It brings a smooth result on facial whiskers. I recommend it and I would buy another one. It includes guards for trimming you hair. I haven’t use it for that yet but when my hair gets long enough I will be trimming it either this Braun trimmer.

Much, much better than I expected. This clipper worked perfectly straight out the box. Quiet operation, light weight and easy to handle and control. Combs are easily attached and removed. The height adjuster allows precision length, surprisingly 0.5 mm does make a difference. When edging your beard the clippers are very sharp and unforgiving, remember to work in to the final edge in small steps. Overall the Braun BT3040 trimmer works well and as advertised. The free Gillette Fusion Pro Glide razor adds the finishing touches - great.

On the down side - no case.

Though the razer was never used and was more of a leveraging gift. The clippers themselvs are verry nice. They dont get jammed (trust me with having to trim my neck beard that looks like a bush when over grown every 2 weeks) works downstairs, or upstairs. They wont judge, but i will. Easy to clean, the cleaning tool is kind of a gimick but simple water works perfectly to get rid of hairs in the blades. Doesnt cut you at all, was very surprising. Overall a good 9/10 because no one is perfect and you know it.

I finally get to replace my crappy Norelco unit which I absolutely hated; the Norelco rechargeable battery finally died, so it gave me a good excuse to get this one as a replacement.
I've had very good luck with Braun shavers, so I tried this beard trimmer...
The reviews had a few nasty reviews, but I was willing to try for myself.

One minor downside - I tried the shortest guard which is supposed to give me a 1mm trim, but it was longer than the Norelco set to 1mm.
I never got to measure the actual stubble to see which one was an actual 1mm, but I liked the shorter cut from the Norelco.
Due to this fact, I took out the shorter guard and tried the trimmer bare; some reviews claim it was pinching skin - yes, it did this to me when the power was low and the cutter slowed down.
I'll report back later when I get a good grasp of how well the rechargeable battery performs...

DEF WORTH THE $20 price tag on cyber Monday. Although it is a entry level model. If you were just looking for something to do a quick trim and buzz this will be great for you. If you have a lot of facial : body hair and use a trimmer oncyy a daily basis you would probably be better off spending the extra money to buy a higher end trimmer. This one is def good for the small stuff and will get the job done. Worth every penny especially since it comes with a Gillette pro glide razor which is my daily razor I’ve been using for years. Blades are not cheap but I’ve yet to find a better one. Leaves no cuts, razor burn or bumps, and most of the time I don’t even use shave gel 👍
