I really like this massage roller -- the hard plastic base keeps its shape and the top layer of foam has just the right amount of give to make it comfortable against my body. My son introduced this to me when I visited him while I was having lower back pain. I used it to roll all along my back from bottom to top and /crack/, I felt immediate relief in my lower back! It also reduced the tenseness in my upper back. When I got home I bought one for my self right away! Now I use it every day, sometimes twice a day! I have tried harder, smaller-diameter rollers and found them very uncomfortable and ineffective compared to this one.

I bought mine for my shoulder blade that I couldn’t reach myself & Im super happy with my purchase.

It’s very firm, no give, standing and using a wall to press into my shoulder blade was perfect because I adjusted the pressure based on how much to lean into it or off of it.

Laying on the floor & rolling back on it, gives a great stretch but if you’re not flexible I’d buy a smaller roller or start using it by standing & using a wall.

My back is not flexible at all right now. The roller not having any give, I could seriously injure myself using this on the floor. Standing against the wall gets two thumbs up from me.

When I first used this foam roller, it HURT. I was so incredibly tense in my legs from running that I couldn’t bare to roll for more than 30 seconds in one spot like my calves and especially the IT band. After a while of using it, i almost wish I had gotten a firmer one. It feels so amazing to roll out after a long run, and loosen up those muscles. They heal much faster now.
Lastly, if you suffer from “lazy bum” like me, where your hips hurt from sitting all day and then going on a run, rolling out your glutes with this tool absolutely helps. It activates the muscle.
I would recommend this 100%, I love the grids.
