OK/SERVICEABLE, BUT STRANGE FIT

OK/SERVICEABLE, BUT STRANGE FIT
Decent warmth/bulk ratio; perfectly adequate on a recent 42 degree, sunless day. But: as others have noted, the fingers are a bit long/obtrusive--esp. the pinky, which is extra long for some reason. Unlike other true wool long-finger cycling gloves I've used, its fingertips have a flat contour, rather than following the curve of one's actual fingers. As such--along with the rigid rubbery coating applied to the index, middle, and thumb tips--I found that they get snagged-up slightly in-between my STI levers. Nothing dangerous or anything. Just annoying. Worst of all, though: the odd, widened tailoring of the section just distal to the wrist and along the knuckles (see pictures). Besides creating some give/sliding effect when gripping the bars/hoods, it just looks weird. I wouldn't buy these again. But they're not bad enough to hassle with a return.

Another great DeFeet product! Very comfortable glove and good quality. Don't mistake this for a winter glove - it's not. It's a great spring and fall glove for those slightly cool days.

Wore them yesterday for the first time. Fit ran large, (I ordered size L) however I like my gloves to fit tight. Temps were in the low 50's/high 40's.I wore glove liners underneath them. otherwise my hands would have froze during the descents. Probably fine for early Fall or Spring riding. Not too good for cold weather, but we all handle the temps differently. I imagine they would make a great running glove. Very well made, don't know about durability yet. No problem gripping the bars, not too bulky, even when wearing glove liners. I do sometimes wear liners in my other cold weather gloves (which are really bukly). As far as price, quality and value, excellent. I often stash a pair of glove liners in my jersey pocket during the winter and put them on or take them off as needed. For the price, this option is no problem.

I use these for cycling when the temps are about 48-59°. They wick the sweat nicely. Keep my hands warm but not overheated. I have a couple of pairs which is probably the highest praise.

These gloves do not block the wind, the touchscreen lacing does not work. I bike 15 miles to work each way, and in high 30s, low 40s in October with roughly 15 mph winds, my usually cold tolerant hands were achingly cold. Also, no amount of frustrating poking at my phone screen to change podcasts or answer a phone call from my wife would work with the gloves on.

Bought these for cycling in 40 degree temps in central Florida winter. They keep my hands warm but are flexible enough to allow me to change gears and brake with no issues.

I purchased a version of these gloves probably 10 years ago and unfortunately misplaced them this winter. So I ordered this set and was excited about the color and the feature that allows them to work with touchscreen devices. Unfortunately for me the finger length was too short to fit on my hand comfortably. The length of the middle finger of a Large and Extra Large glove is 3 1/4" and 3 1/2 inches, respectively. My middle finger is closer to 3 3/4 inches. If the fingers were longer I would be so happy to own a pair. The width was comfortable for me (a little over 9 inches around my hand which puts me in the Large size according to their sizing chart).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Durable Gloves

Overall great product - as expected. Comfortable and grippy. The thumb conductive fiber works better than the index finger. Lost a star because of the general fit: good finger length, but baggy in the base of the hand and ends of fingers. Was expecting more of a typical glove-liner-snug fit (granted, I do not have hugely thick sausage fingers). The material is very durable -- a notch above normal knit fabric gloves.
