When I am driving on the highway, I use my iPad Air 2 for music, with all of my iTunes playlists loaded onto it. Getting that music into my car's sound system was not possible, before I found this wonderful device. First I plug the Nulaxy into the car's accessory plug-in, which turns it on automatically. Then, I turn on the iPad (or any smartphone with Bluetooth) and ask for it to "find" and "pair" with other devices, at which time it finds the Nulaxy automatically (when the Nulaxy is plugged in and "on"). Then open iTunes or other music player on your device and start up a song. Then go to the Nulaxy and use the upper two buttons above the "dial knob", to go up or down the FM station selections to find a clear signal where you can hear the music playing from your device. And you are done with that "launch" step.
Here is where this device is so much safer to use than fumbling with your music player device.
A) If you want to mute, for an incoming call, you simply push the illuminated blue button in the center of the dial, which automatically pauses the song that is playing on your device, to allow silence for taking a phone call or other reasons needing silence. You can also put the phone call into your car stereo system with a couple of button pushes. And you can recall the last number dialed with a couple of button pushes on the center dial. And when you are done, just push the center button again and it goes back to playing music where you left off.
B) Push the forward and reverse buttons without taking your eyes off the road, to advance to the next song, or go back.
C) Turn up the volume by spinning the round dial (just like you would on your car's stereo dash controls). Or, alternately, use the volume up or down buttons, which flank the round dial that does the same thing. I use the round dial instead of the car's volume control because I first turn up my music player device to close to 100% for the best sound transmission and then use the Nulaxy volume control to go up or down. I found this to be the best mix for optimum sound. Although, if desired, you can still use your car's audio system dials for volume. Multiple options for the safest mode for your needs.
D) And a great feature which covers all the bases...let's say you have a music player that does not have Bluetooth (maybe an old ipod, or a cassette player or whatever) and you want to get the music from your device onto your car audio system using the Nulaxy. The Nulaxy has a 3.5mm stereo mini plug port on the side of the unit that allows you to run a simple stereo cord from the headphone jack on your player, into the Nulaxy, which then transmits the signal to an FM station on your car stereo. Good engineering to be the most user friendly and feature rich.
E) There is also a TF Card port on the side of the unit, which allows you to use a TF Card or Micro SD card in the Nulaxy. I have not used this feature so I can't comment on its usefulness.
F) And the last feature worth mentioning is that there is a USB charging port on the back side of the part that plugs into the accessory outlet of your car (cigarette lighter style port). So you can plug your device into this to keep it charged while driving and using the Nulaxy. Great for extended periods in which you want to conserve battery on your smartphone or player. CAUTION though, which most people may already know. You probably do not want to use your cigarette lighter port (if you have a dual port..one for accessories and one for a cigarette lighter), because if you plug anything into a cigarette lighter port, for an extended time, it will cause that port to overheat and possibly cause damage to the wiring and/or your device plug. I made that mistake at one time and plugged something into the cigarette lighter to charge, while I was using the alternate accessory port for the Nulaxy. After about 20 minutes, I reached up to control something on the radio panel and noticed that entire area of my dashboard felt very hot to the touch and would have probably short circuited or started a fire, had I not discovered the over heating by accident. So be careful with this potential hazard.
All in all this is a fantastic little unit, which works extremely well and is very user friendly with all of the features one could possible think of, for mobile music linked to your car stereo. I plan on buying a second one to keep in my powerboat and for use in other vehicles.
First of all, it's very convenient that instead of sitting directly against the cigarette lighter it actually has the flexible neck so that it can be moved around slightly to face in a certain direction. The neck isn't quite as pliable as I was expecting it to be so it only really sticks well in 2-3 positions. That doesn't affect my use at all but I thought I'd mention it in case someone was trying to use it in a specific area. It is quite sturdy though, and we haven't had any issues with it weakening or sagging from the lighter port.
I also really appreciated that it has a USB port in the base so that I can plug my phone in to charge it while I'm using the transmitter. That wasn't something I had thought to look for, but now I see how inconvenient it would have been had it not had it because we only have one cigarette lighter port in the car. Apparently it also works to plug a flash drive with music on it and it will play them but I have yet to try that feature.
The screen is definitely bright enough to see easily, but it's not so bright that it makes it uncomfortable to drive in the car at night. I have had a car charger with a very bright blue LED light on it and I had to put electrical tape over the bulb so it didn't distract me from driving at night so it was a real relief that this one doesn't have that issue.
It's pretty cool that it actually shows you the battery level of your car battery right on the screen too! I didn't understand why it had a battery emblem since it doesn't run on batteries, but after checking the manual I was really impressed by that feature as well. Buying just a battery level checking device on Amazon isn't cheap so it's pretty cool that it's built in.
As far as actually using it, I was almost shocked by how easy it was to pair with both my Samsung Galaxy S6 and my boyfriend's iPhone. We didn't even have to open up the little manual. Upon plugging it into the lighter port it lit up immediately and without pressing any buttons on the transmitter I was able to scan for it on my phone and it appeared immediately as an available device and paired up without an issue. And now any time we get in the car and the transmitter turns on it automatically pairs to whomever has their Bluetooth on so quickly and easily!
After pairing I turned on Pandora on my phone so that I could tell if it was working or not and then started changing the transmit channel to try to find one that wasn't already a radio station. At first I was really irritated and thought it wasn't going to work because my car radio would never stop on any of the channels that I chose on the transmitter, but then I realized that I needed to change it from Auto Tuning Mode to Manual Tuning Mode so that I could go up on the car stereo one decimal point at a time, and that solved the problem completely. I was able to easily choose a station on both my stereo and the transmitter and the Pandora I had on my phone came through perfectly clearly. I have noticed that it is definitely clearer on some stations than others, so make sure to play around with it a bit if you're noticing static. Fortunately for us, even when we noticed a little bit of static when there was no music playing we really couldn't hear it at all through the songs or audio books.
It sounds minimal but I was so excited when the directional buttons on the transmitter were able to change skip to the next song on Pandora! It says they're mostly for use for when you plug a flash drive in, but that it will work for some apps, and fortunately Pandora is one of them!
I've really only used the hands-free calling a few times but I did notice that I did have to talk a little bit louder than I normally would to reach the microphone. That may be partly due to the location of the cigarette lighter port in my car though. That said, I didn't have any issues at all hearing the person on the phone and there was no static, they just said that my voice was a little quiet. So it's still perfectly useable.
Lastly, I have yet to use it because the Bluetooth works so well, but it's amazing that it also comes with an AUX cord so that if you have an MP3 player or something that doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities you can still use the AUX cord to plug it in and play that music through the FM to the car speakers also. It also says in the manual that if you have an AUX plug in on your car stereo you could also go the reverse way and Bluetooth your phone to the transmitter then actually plug the AUX cord into the port instead of using the FM transmit function. If I had an AUX cord port I could see that being amazingly convenient and you'd surely get a really nice, clear sound from that method too.
In summary, I am pretty much blown away by all features this has and how well it works. I am so pleased that I ended up buying this one and I would honestly recommend it to anyone.

Fits into your car lighter socket, powers on immediately and is ready to pair.
Adjust volume on your phone to max, then adjust volume on this device to max, then adjust your radio volume to the loudest you want your music. After that, just turn down this device's volume with the dial, until it is a comfortable listening volume. If you hear any buzz (1 kHz whine) adjust the FM frequency of the device 1 click at a time and your radio station the same, until you get a good, clear, strong signal.
Controls are easy to understand and intuitive!
Honestly had to adjust the BASS/TREBLE on my car radio, as this device produces a better sound than the AUX port built into my car. Very good sound. Also, the one click phone call answer is handy.
Used on a 2008 Astra, no aux available, just connected up via cigarette lighter and synch to 87.5fm.
Great large clear screen makes it easy to see what you are doing. With the screen on continually, it also makes it easier to see without having to click on it to 'waken it up'.
'Next' and 'back' buttons are large and work perfect for me using Spotify. (Still to test out on sd card or usb pen drive).
Charger works perfect also.
Easy to install and instructions are great and easy to follow.
Quality of both Music through car radio and telephone quality is so good.
To note - Volume needs to be raised a couple of clicks to hear clearly, so be aware if changing radio station to another channel. Volume button on device is in great location, but I tend to use steering wheel controls.
Just bought another one for my wife's car.
Ce transmetteur fm et fait pour vous, en plus il capte super bien la station.
