From the manufacturer
Unwavering traction in every corner of the world, Vigilante is WTB's premier aggressive trail and enduro tire.
Unwavering traction in every corner of the world, Vigilante is our premier aggressive trail and enduro tire. It grips at lean angles like nobody’s business, and is the tire of choice for our entire team of ripping enduro athletes who need a tire that won’t let them down while chasing podiums.
FEATURES:
- Prominent lugs dig into any terrain, wet or dry, while providing stability at any speed.
- Ample spacing between knobs ensures it flings mud while biting into loose, chunky trails.
- Often used as an aggressive front tire, though it also works well as a rear tire on loose, steep terrain.
- Proven performance as WTB's most popular mountain tire tread pattern.
- Pairs well as a front tire with our Trail Boss 2.25 as a rear tire.

COMP LEVELFeatures our grippy DNA rubber, durable impervious casings, and wire beads designed for use with a tube. |
DNA RUBBER COMPOUNDOur proprietary 60A durometer rubber compound offers the ideal mix of rolling efficiency and traction for Cross-Country and trail riding applications. DNA rubber is renowned for being versatile and long-lasting. |
DURABLE CASINGA robust and substantial casing provides the strength needed for our wire bead tires to last. A high ratio of rubber to thread protects against trail threats and urban unpleasantries. Found in all Comp level tires. |
WIRE BEADThe area of the tire where it contacts the rim is called the bead. Tires with wire beads utilize a thin, woven wire throughout the length of the bead to provide strength and proper tire retention. Tires with a wire bead cannot be folded. |
Product Description
Shameless traction. Almost too much. Open, eager square blocks happily devour terrain. There's good reason Mark Weir demanded we make this tire. And it performs, and even rolls faster than you'd think. TCS Tough options keep things dynamite proof while TCS Light versions make trail worthy weights.

For anyone with the same bike, mine's a 1990 Novara Arriba (REI) that came with 2.1" wide tires, and these 2.3" fit. Look at the picture and you'll see it's a close fit between the forks. I'm good with that because I'm not usually in any mud. IMO nothing bigger will fit the bike.
I added a picture of the whole bike so you can compare the 2.3" on the front and the 1.95" on the rear.

That’s you are setting up a bike computer or display you need to measure the actual circumference because it varies a lot..Like my rear tire, 24.8” is close to 26”, just measured diameter. Which reminds me to input correct millimeter circumference. And for the person that doesn’t know any better, I can see where the confusion comes. Buy a 26” rim and measure it, it’s more like 22”....
