The new Face Fender XL features an improved design so that it is thicker, stronger and re-profiled for a better fit.

If you take the time to install it properly (snug) it works really well and does not sustain damage or fall off. I ride year-round, so this fender stands up to lots of temperatures and elements. I use this in conjunction with a down-tube deflector and rear seat-post mounted fender.

The XL face fender is only larger on the front of the forks which doesn't bring any real value. I already have the regular one and bought this hoping it would provide more protection... But looking at it I doubt it.
