Description

Because Terra X5’s asymmetric opening is fastened by a single micro-adjustable Boa L6 Dial B dial running a steel-coated nylon lace through tough, light, ‘Slipstream’ plastic guides, and combined with a 25mm microfiber and Velcro strap, it’s easy and quick to get a precision fit for any foot shape. That optimum fit means comfort and performance.

Its suede upper provides advanced resistance to cuts and abrasions, extra breathability and enhanced comfort thanks to the pliant characteristic of the natural material, along with a great new choice of appearance for the trail.

Long-Term Durability Ensured with Carbon Fiber

The Composite Carbon Fiber vented outsole and fi’zi:k Cycling Insole combine to give support, comfort and tremendous power transfer. It has light, tough woven tape heel loops for carrying and storage.

The Terra X5 Suede inspires trail confidence thanks to its all-terrain grip provided by pronounced tread that fully encompass the heel section, on the toe-box and across the instep and outstep up to the cleat recess, creating a sturdy support for riders preferring clipless ‘trail’ pedals with a small platform.

Bought these to replace my old worn out s-works mountain shoe. And after having a great shoe for so long, I was worried about the transition. Decided to pull the trigger on these due to the look, combo of features, and lower price compared to anything similar.

After receiving them I am definitely impressed. The weight is only slightly more than my s-works, but the fit and feel is as good, or better, than those. The upper feels pliable but strong enough to protect my feel, and the color is really good. The layout and height of the tread make the shoe very stable on dirt/rocks/gravel, and not nearly as uncomfortable to walk in as other shoes I've tried. The toe box has some nice protection as well with a harder coating over the upper.

The fit is also perfect, I wear a size 12.5-13 US, and ordered a 46.5. These were true to size and fit like a dream. they are tight in the heel box and sides, but have just enough room in the toes to not make you foot start hurting of feel like you can only wear the thinnest of socks.

On the bike, these things feel even better. The boa easily gets the shoe nice and snug, and the faux-carbon shank feels just as sturdy as my previous shoes with full carbon.
Haven't put in a ton of miles on them yet, but so far they are comfortable while pedaling.

Overall, a great shoe for the price. I've already recommended to friends.

I love Fiziks brand bike shoes. I have many pairs. I recently switched from road shoes to mountain biking shoes to prevent nerve damage in my feet from riding long distances. I found switching to mountain bikes shoes and getting a quality set of shoe inserts to cushion my feet really made the difference between pain and no pain. So, I bought these in a slightly larger size to allow enough room for thick inserts. The reason I buy Fiziks bike equipment is because it is high quality, superior design and its affordable. The main reason I buy Fiziks bike shoes is that they use a carbon sole that provides superior cushioning to the feet. Most shoes with carbon soles are pricey well over $400. When I switched to the mountain bike shoes, I wanted the carbon soles. These have those carbon sole feature that support my feet on long rides. This is my third pair, not because they wear out, but I want a pair for indoor riding separate for outdoor riding and a backup pair. These are high quality, well designed bike shoes for any type of riding. Don’t let the price fool you— they are the best shoe on the market and made in America.

I attempted to buy a size 10 black bike shoe as advertised; That would normally be a bike size 43-45 depending on the manufacturer. The product delivered was shipped as size 41, which is an 8 and 1/4 shoe size--obviously too small. The web site does not correspond to the product size. They need to go back to their programmer. Be careful after ordering as you don't always get what you think your are getting. It will have to be sent back. No reflection on the product itself; only the way it is listed.

Nice quality for the money. Fit was good for my narrow feet. Though the footbed is narrow, there is still a fair amount of volume, good for people for really high arches, I guess. I had to add an extra insole layer for my feet. I had to order a half size smaller (44.5) than my previous pair of Giro Privateers (45) and this still gave me a smidge more room than I had in my Privateers, which was what I was hoping for.

My main gripe is that the sole of this shoe has a slippery hard plastic bit between the forefoot lugs and the heel lugs. If you miss clipping into the cleat there's a good chance your foot will slip right off the pedal - so be careful until you got the feel right.

Also, this slippery plastic can be a bit of a hazard when walking if you happen to place your foot on a hard edge. It's like being on ice skates! Though making the shoe a little heavier it would have been better if they had continued the lugs through the mid foot.

The lugs themselves could also be a bit softer and stickier, though of course this would affect their longevity.

Overall, a decent comfortable and stiff shoe for the money.

Have been trying to replace my old pair of Gyro road shoes for some time now. Got thru Amazon few pairs from Gyro and some other brands and size was issue with all of them. Too small. Amazon is great with free return policy. Thank you Amazon. I wear size 13 US and getting correct size in cycling has been issue always. Got pair of these (size 48 EU) and they fit like glove. Nice, light, comfy, high tech shoes. Did few rides , fine tuned angle on set of sh-51 cleats and BOA tightness, good to go. Will be used on my road bike for my regular 50-60 miles rides but will be "tested" on my off road bike and next thing will be to by another pair :).

I use to only buy Sidi cycling shoes and took a chance on some fizik road shoes loved them so much bought these for MTB. They fit perfect and you can seriously wear these all-day MTB with no sore spots. they breath nicely, cleanup is easy (for those muddy days) the BOA works great and is so fast to put on. So worth the money! I am a Fizik fan for life.

They size was marked wrong so I sent them back and they didn't have my size. The build quality was nice, but had to go with a different brand.

The listing for these is very confusing as far as sizing (at least it was when I purchased them). I looked at the size guide on FizIks website and kept adding them to my Amazon cart until my cart reflected the size I needed. I typically wear a women’s size 8 and these fit good. I have only used them on my indoor trainer and never for more than an hour so I can’t say how comfortable they would be on long rides, but so far, I have no complaints. Thee are my first pair of clipless shoes, but I’ve had no issues getting in and out of the peddles (again, only used indoors so far!). Green would not have been my first color choice for bike shoes, but I actually like them. I also haven’t walked around in them since I keep them next to my bike, but I did have to walk upstairs to get something once and had no issues. Wouldn’t want to walk a long distance, but for a quick hike a bike, they would be fine.

Update, after riding in rain and getting the shoe wet the toe of the right shoe has developed a big hard bump or wrinkle in the leather that makes my big toe very sore. Trying to fix it by using a wood block wedged in the toe area while drying the shoe. This is a big design flaw. The left shoe has some small lumps in the leather. I hope this does not get worse.

Sent 8 3/4 when ordered 10.5, So I returned. So I deciphered their sizing code and ordered the correct size using the cart size (not the one selected from the drop down menu). EG The listing indicates size 13 but when placed in cart changes to EU size 44.
According to Fizik, size 44 is 10.75 US which is my size. I ordered, again, and they fit perfectly.

After 3 rides the Fitik X5 are the most comfortable mtb shoe I have ever owned. Great power transfer.
