Look at the pictures... this is why you invest in the best helmet you can afford. Just flowing along on a trail I ride weekly and I managed to get pitched over the bars on a steep and sketchy portion. The front wheel washed and my head accelerated right toward a rock. Gravity was pulling so hard that there was no way to avoid it. All I could do was tuck my head to protect the side of my face and hope for the best. This helmet did its best, the shell caught the jagged rock and the spherical design rotated slightly, probably saving a some torque to the neck, and the core absorbed the impact. Took me a few moments to shake it off, check over the bike, and continue on home. I had a very minor headache the next day, but that's it. And, yes, I just bought another one.

First, the MIPS engineering technology of this helmet is mind blowing and proven 5 star effective in UVT testing. So you have this great technology protecting your brain matter and as soon as you put it on you notice how great it
fits. The magnetic chin clasp is cool and the straps are fully adjustable to get the fit right. I've seen easier to use
straps but not a big issue as once adjusted, they are stable. Love the padding insde the helmet to help contour
to your specific head shape. Expensive, yes, but I don't think many will feel this helmet is not worth it.

Helmet tech has come a long way, this is absolutely hands down the best helmet I've owned in 30 years of riding.

Extremely comfortable for long rides, great ventilation and some of the top protection technology!

I've done road biking for years but just getting into mountain bikes. I've always worn Giro, which simply fits me. Except for the Montaro I recently tried that was painful inside. This Manifest is pricey but very comfy, light, and has some nice features. It feels really nice on your head like a padded glove where others, for my dome at least, whereas others I've tried have pressure points and just uncomfortable. I have no complaints with the fit and feel of this nor the quality.

One con aside from the price would be the straps and buckle. Having compared this at the same time to some POC helmets, I much prefer their straps and how they are shaped wider around the ear and how the under chin strap is very minimal. The Manifest has a nice magnetic clasp but the straps and their layout is basic and very bulky under the chin. Both ends are double-straps and one side is doubled back over itself so thats 4 straps you can see on one end, whereas the POC is a single strap on both ends, so much cleaner.

When I measured my big ol'head, I came in at 58cm. The medium is rated up to 59cm. However, the padding is about 2cm thick. At it's furthest expanded setting, it was too snug to be comfortable. Besides, I could tell, wearing it for extended periods would have given me a head ache. I sent the medium back in exchange for a large. This is a great helmet and the design is meant to make it feel like your not wearing one. Can't wait to hit the trail...not with my head. :)

I've got a fairly big head, 60cm. I tried on 4 helmets. All were in the Large/XL size. I went with the Giro.

Giro Manifest Spherical - Great fit. Very comfortable. Good coverage & plenty ventilation. Spherical tech doesn't have the usual MIPS plastic inside liner which can get a bit sweaty. The helmet is in 2 pieces and the outer shell moves. Impressive tech. If a bit pricey.

POC Tectal - comically large. even when tightened, it felt & looked huge on my head.

Kask Rex - helmet fit good, but Kask straps don't work with my ears (had the same issue with the Protone). Straps were digging in under my earlobes

Fox Speedframe Pro - close second. Good fit. Plenty of vents. Cheapest of the 4. If it came down to saving some cash I'd have gone for this one.

Comfortable, great air flow, light. If the straps are not adjusted correctly, they will sometimes get into your peripheral view which makes you think someone is coming up on you. As long as they are adjusted right, that doesn't happen. I think it is expensive for a helmet, but I ride all the time, so will get alot of use out of it.

Most comfortable bike helmet that I've ever owned. Almost 40 years in the saddle and I love this helmet. Super adjustable to get the perfect fit. The best padding that Giro has ever used. A little pricy but you'll have to decide if it's worth it. I got the previous years model at a 20 per cent discount which made the price a little easier to swallow.
